I started with SnG, then I played cash for several years. But my passion is of course MTT. I often play at the cash tables and rarely SNGS. I devote 90% of my playing time to tournaments. Worship

It´s almost the same thing Max1403. The SnG and the tournaments (MTTs) have the same structure where the blinds are increasing and the players who lost couldn´t play anymore (with the exception of a tournament with rebuys). And you have to play it in the same way: Tight in the first levels, Steal blinds in the middle and ICM in the last stage. The difference is between cash or MTT/STT Blink

I don’t really like a lot of table tournaments ... because it’s quite a long time .... the only exception is freerolls ... since there are no other options when you don’t have money in your account .... So you have to play multi-table freerolls .. .And so of course I love sit-and-go .... faster game and faster result

Good morning mate! I use this tactic more in the end I finish taking it sometimes 70% vs 30% or even 50% and 50% when I respect the ICM I go well in the games.

It's how the tournaments speak. The problem is what pays well are the first ones.

Yes, if we focus on tournaments (STTs/MTTs) I think the same as the other mobsters. SnG is like a fast training to the MTTs, where is the big money with little risk buy-in. You can try to win big money in the SnG, but you have to make a big buy-in too. And the speed to win is also the speed to lose. So we are according to one point: we don´t like the cash tables!

I prefer cash tables as MTT last too long for me.

As a working father who has to go to work and spent some time with the family, I mostly play sessions to max 2 to 3 hours… so this limits my games to cash games and 1 table SNG.

I like to play a MTT once a while but only if I know I have the time for it.

I understand you thefly131, I´m a father and employer too, and the time to play isn´t too much. Many times I told here when I was near the bubble of a good tournament and suddenly I had to go for my daughter to handball training. But if I can´t play tourney, I like to play SnG. This kind of game takes one hour max! Blink

I've lately played the DoN games with some success, Last 14 games played I've cashed in 11. Generally very easy competition if you just have the dicipline to lay down a hand like AK pre-flop when you really have no reason to play another hand to cash.

I play tournaments.
There are periods in my poker life with many Sit'N'Go games in Pokerstars but after a period of over one year i realized that: I can not make profit in these games.
For me it's a waste of time and i have some profit only with MTT tournaments.
My option is for tournaments because i understand better with them. Smile

semikarla, the bad news is that the latest fad in poker is to have balanced ranges. So you could have: OR_3bet/check (premium going to all in), OR_3bet/fold (the worst of his range) and direct push (2º best). This makes a lot of confusion to the newbie players about when you can play each one and how to play it. And erru9107, in the DoN (where I played a little in the past) you have to be in ITM in the 70% of the games to win money in the long-term. I still like SnG!

@maragstero
53.93% ITM is break-even at the games I play, and that's the level with the highest rake relative to the buy-in. So really, 58-60% ITM with enough volume gives you a decent profit. So far I'm getting about 78% ITM, which isn't sustainable long run. I think that if I can stay at around 60% long run on the higher stakes, that could make me some money.

Winning 11 out of 14 games is a great result. It would have been ideal to be able
and keep this ratio. Even if you drop as you say, and still making a profit,
along with more perks that you can be getting from your buy ins, like points, tickets etc,
will be a positive result Smile

I like to mix it up a bit and it depends pretty much on how much time I have to play poker. If I have an undetermined amount of time I will play a tournament but if I am tight on time then I will opt for a sit n go which is timed to finish within the time that I have. Remember, change your approach for whichever one you choose.

i play all formats, buy least like the cashgames,,most of the time i get frustrated, angry,,or just runbad with monsterhands,,,sometimes iclear te cashtables and dominate the whole session..sometimes players think im the weakest player.due to some hands ive shown,,,mostly when my image is cranked,

Mtt's are best for big cashes ,,but reaching a finaltable in 2018 ,at least for me..almost seemed impossible,,(stranded a 100 times ,just before the finaltable....(so frustrating)

My susses came from 18pko format sng at partypoker,,,won those severl times,,best result : i deposited 10euro and entered the 11euro sng /18 playerpko ... when the tournament finished i ended up with over 175euro profit in my account,,,pkoéd all other 17 players...i could not believe it myself,,,

So im stuck playing sng's and mtt's always multitabling.

i fund my mtt's with the winning of my sng's....many sessions are a bit dissapointing tho...just winning points for rakeback at end of session, playing 10-12 hours and see my bankroll did not increase or decrease.

ps. Which article qwertolog ???i dont see it

For me, there was a lot of time to play poker.
I prefer to give up some habits which are not good such as time spent in bars or clubs and i go home to play tournaments ( not before playing satellites ).
They are more attractive and you can earn more money than Sit N Go.
If you want to make money faster you can try better cash and after that with tournaments.
Sit N Go is a solution unattractive for me.
