Hey all mobsters,
After years out of poker since my university era (I got married and one kid in the meantime), I have one week off that I want to spent playing some poker.
I used to play cash (6-table) and S&G, but I'm not a really good cash player, so I will start this week challenge playing S&G. I' going to play $1.5 dollar S&G, hyperturbo, because even although I have one week off I do not have so much time and I would like to play as many S&G as I can. (Hopefully I can reach 1000).
I'l will be posting updates and some graphs after each session to share with you guys my success and/or failures.

I wish you to learn strategy, to develop your skills and after that to play for real money. It's hard to win, if you don't have some knowledge. When you do this, you can enter in MTT tournaments and there to catch final tables for money. Good luck.

Well, things did not go well on my first day. After playing some hyperturbe S&G I realized that they were not made for me. Really fast blind structure and very few starting chips. I decided to move to turbe S&G but result were not much better.
At the end of the day I finished -$16.69. Hopefully on today session I can do better.

I'm sorry about your first day but i hope you will come back and you will be on the plus side. You must to play fifty-fifty, if they have this option in the lobby. You have higher chances or you can play at fewer tables because many are not good ( you cannot concentrate... ). Good luck.

I will follow your advice. I'm going to play fifty&fifty to see how things go. May be I can do better and get back the money I have lost. Yesterday session was pretty much even (0.50 dollars up). After the S&G session, I decide to try some luck on NL2 6 table. I got some nice hands mixed with bad beats, and I finished with $1 dollar profit

As poker is today, playing S&G at low limits is basically losing money . Why? 1- The number of recreational players is low 2- In low limits they are not profitable due to the structure of prizes and the rake of the rooms 3- There is not enough traffic to justify playing by volume
When you add all these long-term factors you will end up losing money, no matter how good you are.
My recommendation is that you play cash or multi table tournaments

you'll be lucky to win the amount you mentioned but before acquiring it, you''ll certainly be frustrated at some points whereby you will see lot of bad cards coming through.

I think you might be right, As It seems most of the player seems to know what they are doing. I used to play a few years ago and there were many recreational players at microlimits S&G, with a lot of tournament running at the same time. Now It takes some time to fill a table to start the S&G even at $1.5 dollar buy-in. I'll move to cash to try!
Currently I'm - $14.59 dollars down since beginning.
