When one sees the long line of players that are scheduled to play against Galfond, it looks like the top players see him as an easy target, at least in Omaha. And Luke Schwartz is still as classy as he used to be.

Most online poker players had that ugly feeling at the beginning of their careers, when we lost pots or money. In time this thing didn't matter to me anymore, but for someone who loses almost one million dollars is sad. I hope he is strong and maybe he will come back in force.

I think Luke Schwartz is right in a way because when you are out of shape and lose must to stop the game. In this way don't waste a lot of money and will be good enough. A loss of 200 or 300k is better than a loss of 900k. After that play when you regain your skills and instinct.

The thing with winning big, is that you can lose big also. And some times you can lose even bigger It is of course a hit on his bankroll, but he is one of the players that can afford that loss. He didnt take it lightly, since he is thinking to quit the challenge though

This is really bad for Galfond . he shouldn't have gotten with this challenge in the first place . These challenges , provoking the others by saying that you're the best , playing these games for so high stakes . Losses will also be high . I wonder how the next games , with the rest of the players who have accepted to play with him , will conclude . Will he be forced ro stop this challenge ?? Not a good advertisement for his site , at least for the time being ....

Not sure I understand why they are hyping this. It's not like it's MMA or something like that with PPV and such. I don't believe the numbers that pop up, since no organization is monitoring the games. Anyway, if it was true, it's another sign that poker is a skill game.

I think that he will lose more and more money,no matter will he get penalties for every day that he dont play or if he continue playing, then he will lose more money and who know where is end of it!dont think that he can back some bigger amount from other player!

roeish3 , Holdem Poker is a skill game of course. Online is skills, luck and bots. This is the situation and only a bad law will stop offenders from stealing through illegal programs. Professional players make money through their abilities and when someone loses money it is confused and sad and can lose even more like Phil Galfond.

Play in this challenge is on hold for the rest of the month at least. So no new hands have been played between the two. and if one looks at the results so far, Galfond would be well advised to not continue the play, and just give up the side bet.

well then in this situation if he will not play till end of month,he will lose maybe less money!if he dont play for 10 days he will lose 30000 e,but if when we see how much did he lost in this few days of play, maybe this is better when he is out!but we will see what will happen!

It's hard to take the risk of playing games like this. I mean the fact that you have to support a durable pocket... We will see what will happen but a return for Phil Galfond in game with succes will be very difficult. Must play as a master to recover from the loss.

Phil Galfond and Venividi1993 they will resume the game tomorrow but it will be very difficult for the first to recover some money. It is pot limit omaha and he will have to play a lot to come back. It will be difficult but not impossible. They played 9927 hands from 25.000.

So , basically he can play until he loses100k more that's until the total losses are 1000000 , isn't that right ?? 200k he'll also have to pay to his opponent if he loses . If he stops now he pays him 200k and that's all , or he 'll have to pay him sth extra as a penalty ?? Cause if there is no penalty , better stop , instead of losing 300k just lose only 200k , he cannot come back after this devastating losses that he has suffered during these first sessions ... Ofcourse , then he has to deal with his and his site's reputation and fame , mmm, that's a problem . If not , better stop ....
