in Holdem poker? My strategy at the moment is tight and aggressive. I only call if I have doubles or 2 royals, and then I usually go for it with my bets. How can I improve this strategy? Or a better one?

tight and aggresive?, you wouldnt be wanting to play good players on a regular basis with that strategy because its to easy to work out, i like to mix my game up to keep people guessing, but which type of game are you talking about, cash, sng, mtt, they are require very different methods of play. im lost to on your poker "slang" i dont understand royals?, do you mean a suited connector?

I play almost every time when I have 2 pictures in my hand. If I don't hit the flop I fold. If I hit then I shoot very big. Seems like loose play but it can pay off if you don't overplay your cards.

i love mixing it up on the table i usually start quite agressive and then calm down but then i like to put the pressure on and sometimes if high stacked i will raise a few hands even if i have crap just to show that your not going to be pushed around (only if i know im not going to be pushed right back lol) but the best way to be is unpredictable otherise the other players are going to read sooo fast.

Not a tricky strategy. You should develop it. You should take into account the position the players and the action at least.

hm, im a mystery, i take into account value, my stack , postion, player, etc, everything. only way to play for me.
also it is far better to act then react. so if someone has come into the hand before me im likely to fold unless i have a monster, only exception to the rule is if 4 or 5 players have gone allin and i have a hand like 6 7 because then i call , as there is amazing value for my cards : D

People are often confused by the term tight and aggressive. Just because you play good hands aggressively doesn't make you TAG.. If anything it makes you tight/passive and playing this way people will pick it up quickly.
Being a TAG player takes more skill and practice than you might think and if any poker player wants to improve they should almost always conquer this style first!
Tight and aggressive too for me, it's the classic strategy. To play loose & aggressive like the Gus' style really need a big big heart, it's a good strategy in terms of people can't put you on a hand but this strategy usually make you bust early in MTT or just make you take early chip leads so it depends on your luck in a day.

In cash game i just multitab 6 tables and play tag unless there is some uber donk at my table i tend to go LAG on him just to get he's money
In tours i always play tag the first 1-2 hours then i start playing LAG .

Imo its a mistake playing after your BB because your BB doenst include antes so it gives your a wrong image of how many chips you have . You should play after your M . How you figure out your M : Lets say you play at a 9 handed table , blinds are 1000-2000 antes 400 and your stack is 48000.
1000+2000+(400*9) =6600
48000/6600 = 7.27
Your M = 7.27 wich means you got 7.2 rounds left before you blinded out .
There is a big differnece between 24 BB and 7.27 M .

According to SSS you should leave when you have 25 BB or more. So what are you talking about? I haven't heard about SSS in tournaments but when you have 24 BB in tourney your stack is big.

I like playing the SS Strategy too, it's pretty effective at the micro stakes, where I find you can open up your starting hand requirements because many players will call with Ax/Kx/Qx.
Using SS Strategy, I've effectively doubled my BR in a day (Not that my BR is much)

So have you chosen your tactics yet? Good luck. You can also read some poker books. Some people say that they are pretty usefull.
