Card counting is usually more associated with games like blackjack than poker. If the deck is reshuffled for every single game played, counting is a bit pointless. In poker a good memory of what cards have been dealt may be usufull in variants like 7 card stud

this movie will be interesting

it doesn't matter if it's about blackjack, poker, both or more games. It is important to have a beautiful script and the actors to do their job well. I've seen good movies before and this one can be the same. Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jessica Chastain starred in such movies and did a good job.

It seems to be a good movie . And it's producer is Martin Scorsese . I hope they do not catch him n the end , I think in all movies that I have watched until now , and their theme is blackjack card counter , in the end they catch everyone , lol . I will watch it , but not in the theatres probably . Or maybe later , when things are better here in greece regarding covid , who knows ,

let's see what it will be like when we see it

In all the movies that I have watched for courd counting , one of the common grounds is the great security that the casinos have nowadays , so as to spot the strangers , the odd behavior or winning rate and start following and monitoring those players . I wonder if in reality if they busted sb cheating , whether they would beat him as we see in some mmovies or simply call the police lol

for me this all regular, because you use your brain, not some technology,so dont understand why they think that this is cheating!

good news, I haven't seen a good movie about poker in a long time, it's about time! The last really good one I saw was Rounders, with Matt Damon.
Molly's game was good, but it's not the same.
This movie has all the ingredients to be really good. I will look forward to it! And let's hope we see poker movies more often.

There are very good movies to watch, but rounders is the one I liked the most. If you have not seen it, I recommend it.
I also just remembered another with Eric Bana and Robert Duvall (lucky you, which is precisely about the WSOP, although obviously all fictional.
It would not be bad if they did some in the form of a documentary, at some point

well we for sure know that we will have at least one documentary, about doyle brunson, but in next months!so this is just one movie, for others who know!
probably nobody want to invest big money in this kind of movies!

It can be but you never know, maybe a movie like this can lead to others of the same style.
And today that there is a boom in all this type of games or bets, it would not surprise me to see some of this more often. I hope so!
Lately there are no good movies in the cinema, or always the same!

Personally I haven't figured out yet why casino security deals with card counting as a scam and tries to punish the offenders . In NLH we count outs , in other games as well , isn't it the same thing ? The cad counters do not see what will be the next card so as to have a super edge , they focus on propabilities I think to figure out what the next card might be ...

Trying to cheat and win against a casino , on a casino game , is an old story for more than 100 years . I remember a story , not for cardcounting , but for slots .

A player was playing fanatically a slot machine game live , he discoved by chance a combination of buttions clicks during the game , that had as a result the jackpot to be trigerred automatically .. Used this in many placs and casinos , but they caught him. The casinos must have had logs with all the winners on every game so as to hunt the cheaters with big winrate in jackpots or other games .

Ofcourse now slot machines are more complexed in the casinos , and ofcourse online casinos cannot be fooled I think nowadays , and security nowadays is very strict
