Toxic chat  +1
Hi
Just wondering if anyone else noticed that the chat at the tables only contains toxic stuff?

People losing a hand (not a strong on either), just to start talking trash.

Why is there chat in the first place? Player bonding? Card talk?

maybe to be nice and say hello or to appreciate the opponent's nice hand etc, but most often it comes out that frustrated players write there after losing hands and often argue or challenge ... chat can also be needed when the tournament is to deal at the final table...

this is how most of world work today,so its not just in poker, its in normal life and people use so many hard words when they talk,so its not strange that they use on poker tables, especially when they lose hands!young people are much more different then generations before and would be great if this will be changed in future!

Chat is there if you are smart enough to put other player on tilt haha. For talking this is what are chat's for. And if room have allot of table they sure not watch about chat. I see like, rather not to say stuff and on micros, like it was milion game. If someone offended you, you could always get support to block him chat. But i wouldnt bother. Rather think how to tilt them haha. On other site i was making friends too from chat.

every player has horrible hands, but some of them become "toxic" because the software that crushes them in ugly ways. These things makes them react like this.

Table chat has many valuable uses for the smart poker player. As mentioned it does provide the ability to help someone tilt at an opportune time to your advantage. Of course in doing this consideration must be given to how it is done with curtesy and nice words rather than the sometimes vile and abusive words and behaviour that we sometimes see from angry dismantled players. Use it nicely to your advantage.

We can always block somebody or chat or call live support! You have lot of options!

I use it to chat to online mates and make jokes often, I also think it is OK to say someone played that hand like an idiot, but calling them an idiot is different. The abused player should be able to say, "thank you, 1st and only warning" and play continues, as per above, in some cases, players will then be tilted. If you look at Phil Helmuth, he oversteps the line many times and rarely gets a warning or a sanction as the players know that is the best time to keep the pressure on him, so you do not want him to sit-out a round or two to calm down.
I do not tilt, but I do get annoyed by bad play, such as today, a muppet called a 3 bet from BB with QTo (CO raises, I in SB 3 bet), I called him a "muppet" we moved on.

in one hand I can understand when somebody call other player idiot when he play hand on nothing or almost every hand all in,but in other hand I understand what you say! ofcourse when somebody write some things to you, its up to you will you react on this! I would say something and he would get what he deserve!

that's how it is that people most often argue and challenge in these chats, especially people who are tilted and lose, but maybe someday it will change and people will be nice to each other and use the chat in a correct way, which I sincerely doubt.....

play calmly, concentrate and stop being nervous in threads and in real life. It's good to be happy. Big Smile

the new generation is the generation of the Internet, hardly anyone does sports, and most of them have been sitting in front of the monitor since they were children. As for the chat, I always turn off this option because it distracts me during the game and I don't read what is displayed there from the poker administration or what other players write.

Usually amateurs talk a lot in the chat. They play a couple of tables and they get bored. If I don't like the conversation, I just block the chat to the player, or rather turn off the chat. Why torture yourself and people. ) Cool

Some players love that!

I do not advise this at all, ignore when they get vitriolic for sure, but otherwise you may miss tells, clues (jokes?) etc and your opportunity to skin them.

that's right, now each of the young people is mainly on smartphones ... and as for the chat, when I play, I see people challenging each other or some trolls who are frustrated challenging other players, that's why I don't participate in these conversations and I always turn off the chat to focus on the game and not be distracted or annoyed for no reason.
