You can chat in the poker forums , like bankrollmob and 1-2 other . For fun or to learn some news , learn how to play better , learn the best opportunities and offers and games being offered online at the time etc

But at the poker rooms ?? While you play ??Chat is meaningless at the poker tables most of the times . Because you have no time to chat while you play . You have 5,6 or more tables opened with games , crucial decisions to make , mistakes to avoid , to chat at the same time is very risky I would say

10 - 14 years ago i also offended some players who did the same. It was their fault... Big Smile

Some players are going to try and play with your mind or your feelings , using chat . Especially deep in a tourney , at the FT , or in a crucial very important moment, when a lot of money is at stake . So better be carefull . You can make poker friends at the tables but be carefull . Personally I have disabled chat on one poker room , I do not use it nowadays , only very rarely I might use it .

it is not right to make friends at the gaming tables, because the discussion moves to private and there a collusion can be planned. It's better to talk at tables with greetings and other things, but not friends that can put the players' accounts in danger

yes collussion is another problem at the tables . I have witnessed collussion speeches at the tables , even among players who didnt know each other before the game , because they are from the same country . I have witness this with many brazilians i have to admit lol . and if its a sng or a game with very few participants and in a regular basis we have more or less the same people , then this can be very harmfull for the inteerests of the other players , if these players get to know to each other . Then friendly poker can be witnessed among these fellows . one helping the other with theirn bets , to manipulate RNG better or try to fool other players , scare them out of the the hand .

when I was much more in poker, I know that I could read lot of different and bad things at chat, but thats part of poker and we all know that this will be on tables! even in live poker you have lot of things, so how now to have on online poker, esepecially with young players and new generations that dont care about anything!

I witnessed aggressive behaviour at the tables many yin s . They use chat to attack opponents . It happens not often , but yes z it can happen . If you bust his a** deep in a tourney and it's big money at stake , he might say some French against you . I have witnessed this behaviour even of freerolls. I protested against two players , writing email to support team . That happened years ago. Now I have chat disabled and problem solved . But even if I witness sth , I do not give a sh** . Only if it's collusion I might decide to do sth , but this has not happened yet .

is good to disable the chat , because must be focused at tables. Cool

The chat feature in table games seems to be dominated by negative and toxic behavior, rather than the intended purpose of player bonding or discussing the game. It is unfortunate to see players engage in trash talk after losing a hand, instead of fostering a friendly and respectful gaming environment. Sad

they can also be reported... Smile

Yes, these chats are toxic and have a bad effect on the psyche. It's best to just turn them off immediately when starting a poker session, so you don't get stressed and distracted. There is more and more aggression and frustration on the Internet. I remember the beginning of chats and often after losing a hand there was a nice hand culture etc

toxic chat will be always on poker tables, but I think that in last years its even more! new generations are much different and we had corona situation, people were locked in houses and that change a lot! you can respond on that or not or just report it! its up to every player, but it will not change people if they are like that!

It is true that young people provoke. But you can take advantage of it and throw them off balance. Aww crap! Aww crap! Aww crap!

Chat is useful for many purposes, such as making friends from many countries. But I also agreed that chats can be very rude. A bad looser always made a bad chats when they loose a hand.

You are right!

In my opinion, chat at the table has different uses. Some will praise other players, others will write toxic texts, others will communicate because they know each other, and still others will provoke players to behave that will betray their way of playing and the cards they have. It's not just chats at the poker table that are toxic, unfortunately you can see it in many other places as well.

the chat is good for agreements between players at final tables or for announcements of poker rooms. In the past i also used to swear when another player did it to me, but it is not a good solution, because this thing is not the solution. Only reports on those who do it is good.

Exactly Calicul in my opinion this chat only makes sense for the final table and deal breakdown. Or when something is wrong and there is some information from pokerrom. And that's what frustrated players write there after losing hands. Now there is a lot of hate on the internet, but also in everyday life.
