Do propper bankrollmanagement. One part of this is, that you don't play pots you are scared to put the money in. Had you made the call with a $1200 bankroll?

What were the blinds? What was the pot? There are a lot of fishes on action poker so I think you should have called. But playing without bankroll management... I really don't know how to help you then.

I think shokaku is right, when scared money you make other (sometimes wrong) decisions.

Sounds like you were at a NL25 table.

With your bankroll I wouldn't of made this call if I had no experience of the player.

However, I would've raised more pre flop as .75c just isnt that much of raise, especially at action poker. I would've popped maybe $1.50 raise pre and re-re-raised him on the flop. He must have been putting you on A? and thought you were chasing with it as you were just calling his raise, again hard to tell if you've not played with them before.

Also, betting out $3 after someone raised you to $5 previously is pretty weak - the pot was ~$8.50 before you bet judging by what you've said, so I would've bet $6 around 3/4 of the pot, if he pushed then that may make your decision a bit easier and give you better odds to call.

Do you think bad beats happen less at the higher stakes tables - I think not

If anything they happen more - players will push draws and more marginal hands the higher up you go and players will try to bully you if they think they can.

Playing with less that 5 buyins is a sure way to go broke. Take the advice The Mob are giving you and move down to 10NL ( or lower ) and grind your way up to about $500 before going back to 25NL.

If you can't beat 10NL then you won't beat 25NL - if you can beat 10NL then you should be back at 25NL fairly soon with the proper roll to prevent you playing scared.

I do sympathize with you however and I too have been bullied out of pots - I just have the roll where it doesn't bother me too much.

good luck, Dellboy.

yes you guys are probs right about being on to high stakes table but i started with the 40$ bonus and have built it up to 120$ on this table.....think ill stay at this table but take only 10$ at a time when i play???i think i get more bad beats on the 5-10c tables because theres so many stacks under 5$ so people tend to go all in alot more with not the best hand????the blinds are 10-25c and the wouldve been worth 60$ if i had of called his raise!!!! Aww crap!

I hate playing deep stacks. I think shokaku is right, you have to have good bankroll management. Like never buy in for more than 5% of your bankroll unless it's lowerest stakes. Something like that.

If you can't beat 5-10c limit than I don't think you should move up to 10-25c unless you have than bankroll to play there.

hello,

i made the same experiences at all poker rooms.. in the small nl tables the people calls everything with everything
posting 5BB. call... posting 10 BB... call and then i take with Pair of A5 or they get the bad beat on the river..
i think that this play isnt the same as in bigger blindlevels
