as if there were 300 or so medals in total, if I remembered correctly, but it is normal, because that is how it is at the Olympic games where a consistent number of medals are always awarded. The rest must be won.

It is very good that they reward the medalists of the Olympic Games in this way, I believe that their countries are responsible for helping and rewarding their representatives, and it is also a source of pride for a nation to see how they are represented.

I've always liked the competition, it's beautiful, even if many times the best didn't win..., but sometimes there are mistakes, sometimes there are errors with intentions and i hope that in the future these mistakes or error intentions will be fixed.

MALAYSIA, KAZAKHSTAN and INDONESIA give aot of money to their athletes for first position and gold medals in the Olympics according to the article . I wonder if they actually give it , where do they find all this money , I think these countries are not very rich

they are not poor countries, they are in the middle of development in my opinion because i have seen certain news and videos where there are constructions, there is money, there are many possibilities to become developed countries with decent salaries.

Each country will reward its representatives as they are willing to pay, here in but the gold medalists will earn more than 300 thousand dollars, the silver medalists 220 thousand dollars and the bronze medalists less than 130 thousand dollars.

yes, it's nice because sport in general is very good for people but also for the athletes who struggle to become as good and talented as possible. It's something logical but it takes a lot of effort.

Many of these athletes, if not all, sacrifice a lot to reach and compete at a high level with everyone, their effort deserves to be rewarded, and I think that would make more athletes join in and this would be very nice to see.

The countries of Europe are the ones that give the most money to their Olympic athletes, a lot of money to distribute, but they really deserve it, they sacrifice a lot of time to compete at a high level, sometimes they are not valued, it is a great reward for them .

I also googled it , cause I was interested in the details . I mean I knew that great athletes get most of their money from their supporters, their sponsors . These big stars get the lions' share , the young new or noy so successful struggle to survive . Some athletes become multimillionaires from such sponsorship or advertising deals . So they retire happy .

it is hard-earned money, and the athletes won this well-deserved money because they have worked very hard in recent years to prepare as well as possible for the Olympic Games. Congratulations to all medal winners.

It's interesting that advanced countries of the west , in Europe and America , do not give a lot of money to the winners . They give money not enough to support their training or other expenses , including their coaches , travel fees , etc .

On the other hand some very few , small but very rich countries or city states , give hundreds of dollars to their bronze , silver and above all to gold medals winners . If you win a gold medal there , the money and the support they give you is awesome .

it depends, because these amounts of money are decided by those who take care of all these things and depending on the sponsors. I say so, because the money also comes from this place, not only from televisions.

Everything is about money . So without money it's tough to move on . But of course if you are clever and if you have talent , you will have success , then sponsors and money will come . The problem is not with the top of the good chain , not with champions or best players , but with the rest of them . These last guys might struggle to keep on competing. Only with champions you cannot have decent games . Governments should try more to help kids to get to know to sports , finance somehow them , or give them motivation .

I ve just watched an interview with Djokovic, he said that players lower than the top 200 in the tennis world ranking struggle to survive , compete , to find the money for travel fees or accomodation expenses , many times they don't play games cause tbey cannot afford it . I believe it's lower than top 50 or 200 . In every sport most athletes struggle to go on , do any help is welcomed .

.
Ofcourse if he gets a medal life might be easier , some sponsors will come . But if the sport is not very popular , maybe things will not go very well . I see how easily the sponsors abandon their sponsored champions if the last get unlucky and not get a medal at the next Olympics .

Anyway , even 10.000$ or 20.000$ is sth from nothing . And in wealthy countries I think most athletes do study sth , in case their sport won't pay them . So they have an alternative job to do . But in some very poor countries , athletes might find Their sport as the only way to escape poverty , see their sport as a main source of income .
