The 2024 Summer Olympics is still ongoing up until August 11 in Paris, and so far over 200 medals have already been awarded to athletes from all around the world.
It's a really big deal when an athlete manages to finish on the podium. First off, it is all about national pride. For some winners, however, it also means they would be able to take home a handsome cash bonus as well as it would pote[...] Read more » How much do Athletes get at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics for Winning Medals?

the Olympic games must be something majestic and fair, not as it was in this year's edition when several things disturbed and most of the athletes were not appreciated by the Olympic forum.

At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Romanian athletes who won medals received substantial prizes. The gold medalists were rewarded with 150,000 euros, the silver medalists received 100,000 euros, and the bronze medalists received 60,000 euros, plus Ion Tiriac gave them cars

he gave them electric cars, which is a disadvantage from my point of view, but that's the situation at the moment where there are many advertisements for this kind of car, but unfortunately these cars are not ok...

it is interesting how much difference there is in bonus payouts between countries. I wouldn't have thought so. it can be a huge pleasure to stand on the podium, a lot of work invested in it pays off and it can be a great pleasure if there is also a nice bonus reward, and other benefits can also be cool dogs

That will remain in the memory, there was a lot of competition in all sports, they also rewarded the athletes, and the countries once again value the work that the athletes do and reward them.

I have noticed that smaller countries where athletes win fewer medals have higher prize money. Gold medal in Hong Kong is almost 800k thats life changing money and on the contrary in richer countries like USA, Japan, Germany athletes cannot buy a new car with their prize money.

Totally agree! This Summer Olympic Games edition was one of the most enjoyable and interesting I have ever witnessed. I was really surprised with the number of records broken in both athletics and swimming.

From my point of view it seems perfect that governments and some companies support athletes since they make an enormous effort for years to compete at the Olympic level, investing a lot of time and in most cases paying for their own training.

I think it is very good that the state is always supporting its athletes so that they give 100% in every minute they compete, in addition they feel supported by their country, it is a great emotion, now everything has changed, the government supports its representatives .

Posted by dule-vu: well thats logic! small countries have small chances for gold medal, so they pay a lot for them, becuase they will win 1 or nothing!
Some countries are very small , but their wallet is not !! )))
so I wonder why don't they pay more to attract new players , with talent , in their countries . Either train some of their fellow countrymen from childhood or invite some foreign to play under their flag .
this last is sth that many countries do nowadays . Now restriction on getting another nationality I'd have been lifted , now in one year you change nationality , Especially now that Russia has war and Russian athlete find it difficult to play at world sports events and they are forced to play for other countries , so many countries take them and the win medals for this new country . We saw that this was the case for many winners at this last Olympics in Paris . Greece also did it . We took some from Georgia and Russia , they don't even know one greek word , yet they compete for Greek country and flag
So I see Singapore or Hong Kong. They have a lot of gold and money . Why don't they "hire" some Russians athletes ? They would bring them many medals , win gold , make proud their citizens ... Instead Singapore won just a bronze medal in 2024 Olympics .... Maybe they don't really intend to give money . They advertise that they would give a lot of money to the winners in Olympics , because they know that they will have no winner at all lol

from this point of view with transgenders it was a mess. They didn't have to compete and they don't have to compete from now on. They don't have to compete with normal people. Such a thing is miserable and threatens the career of normal athletes.

It's interesting to see the differences between countries in terms of the cash rewards given for Olympic medals. Smaller countries, where there's less chance of winning a gold medal, often offer higher rewards to motivate their athletes. On the other hand, wealthier countries that win more medals might not be able to reward every winner as generously. However, it's not just about the money. The fact that an athlete can represent their nation and bring pride to their country is invaluable in itself. It's also worth mentioning that government and sponsor support plays a crucial role in helping athletes prepare, and without it, there would likely be far fewer successes.

it is normal for each country to have a different payment for their athletes because here it depends on the economy, maybe on generosity, etc.. It is not an identical amount because it is not a mandatory law for that.

Now the athletes are well paid, now they will be very well motivated to demonstrate their high level in high competition, before it was not like that, but now the athletes are supported by their countries.
