I think this strategy is offered because of the satellites at these tournaments which are not very convenient for them. Probably the format of the satellites is not to the liking of the players and for this reason the necessary number of players is not accumulated to cover the amount of prizes. Because of this, 888 very often offer this option.

To make satellite tournaments better,they need to change how they are set up so that players feel more involved and get more value from them. This will help make the tournament experience more enjoyable and encourage more people to join in.
