Phil Hellmuth, the all-time bracelet leader and 1989 World Champion, shocked the poker world by announcing on X (formerly Twitter) that he would not be participating in this summer's WSOP Main Event, the only reason being that it's too exhausting, I'm not sure if that's the best answer.

I don't understand sometimes, it happens that the player with the most bracelets in the world is not going to play the main event of the WSOp. That's incredible, I hope he changes his mind later, a high level player would not miss that.

hahaha do you believe it is because of age, I have seen older players playing the most expensive games in the triton poker events, it is an excuse for that player not to go, he knows that it is one of the best tournaments in the world, but he does not feel like it, it is something else.

He is and old scholl player and probably reason's he give us are true. But like some one already say he will probably stil compete in smaller events traying ti chase another bracelets. As we all know how those bracelets and that is the player with most bracelets means to him. Overall great player to be soo long in the scene is awsome achievement.

Sure i agree totaly. I see not in poker but in some life stuff, that now when i am not 20 anymore, are a more hard and you recover too more time when i was in my early years. And tournaments are not for all, specialy those result oriented when you can play good all tourney and then you geting 2 outers before final tabel.

every man needs a break in his poker life, and Phil Hellmuth proves that he is not so ambitious to win another bracelet, so, he is a true professional who guides his life as he wants, not according to poker.

Only he decides whether to play the main event or not, it's his money, but I think he shouldn't make excuses, if he really isn't going to play, then he shouldn't go and that's it, he's a good player and he should always maintain that until the end.
