Tips for tens  0
Hello

My bust out hand is pockets tens, I am really lost as how to play them as I seem to have exhuasted all logical plays and still bust out. I just fold them now but I am willing to hear how other people deal with these as hold cards.

Big Smile

min raise, be ready to fold if you dont hit on the flop or if over cards come Confused

I don`t think that it is a good idea to min raise with pocket pair, they are not good against 3 or 4 players that might join the hand if you min raise only. Play them as any other strong hands preflop but be prepared to fold if you miss. Problem with 10`s is that even if you do catch a 10 on flop and one of many connectors hit the board, specially ones with pictures, means that someone might have straight draw and possibly some chance of flush even if there is no flush draw on flop. Good read on your opponent is a must with pocket pairs on flop. If you catch trips on flop, if you think that your opponent have some draw which he/she will not fold it might be a good idea that you don`t go allin on flop but on turn if turn is not making him the nuts. One thing is certain, dont go allin preflop with pocket 10`s

From early position I would just call and if someone raises I call it and wait for the set.
From middle position I would bet or call in 50/50 %.
From late position if nobody raises before me I would raise. After a raise I call.... Big Smile

How I play tens depends on many things

size of table, cash or torney, position, the opponent(s), table dynamics, and size of stacks in relation to blinds.

As you can see I could write an essay or two with all these variables. Instead can you give us some more details on your "bust outs" and you'll hopefully get some more relevant answers to your problems.

TT can be a trouble hand, but folding or playing only on set value is a bit to weak. This hand has its greatest value preflop. So try to pick up the pot without seeing the flop.

Just go all in regardless of position, stack size, game type and keep your fingers crossed. It works for about 5% of online players lol

Seriously though, if you think you're beat you generally are with TT. It's a nice hand but has very few uses after the flop with an A,K,Q or J on.

If I'm in postion and facing a raise pre of say 4xbb I like to re-raise to 10-12xbb. If I get called, I have more of an idea where I am when the flop is out, I'll always chuck out a continuation bet regardless of the cards if the player checks or I think he's weak.

How you play it depends on so many factors.
Stacksize, fullring/shortring, cash/sng/mtt, ect ect ect...

For me i like TT more when blinds are high (sng/mtt).

pair of 10 is a nice hand to start with and gives you the opportunity to raise 1/3 of your stack but than all depends from the flop because if you see to much pictures on the flop than better to lay down . it also depends on how much people that have called your hand ... if it is only one than you can take the risk and go for it ...

I totally agree with pedobar. It's not a bad hand and you should play it accordingly. I personally think pocket aces or kings are worse, they are more difficult to fold.
