last time i play poker with (friends) in a pub !!!  0
in the past i played poker with some "friends" in a pub , only the last time (6 months) ago i had a lot of problems to receiving my winnings ... the problem was that 1 person was keeping the by-ins and the rebys with him and players where coming and going ... at the end of the night table closed and i had a good win but the person that was keeping the bank had not enough money to pay the table because he lost to much himself and was keeping on playing in the hope to win it back so till know i still don't have half off my money ...

Nice friends, next time make sure the money goes behind the bar.

I play on Wednesdays at my local, all the money is kept in view of everyone so there's no confusion. If I was you, I'd demand the money and if you were the only person that didn't get paid then you need to grow a pair Big Smile jks

Stop playing in the pub if the conditions are like this. Go to your local pokerclub or casino in this way you can have 100% focus on the game without having worries about watching the prizepool.
Go slap the guy who spend the money and get the Dollar he owes Cool

Playing with friends and playing for a large amount of cash do not match. So if you play with real friends play for nickels only. Problem solved.

Erm.. I think it depends on what type of friends. I have quite a close group of mates and when we play every other friday there's regulaly over £300-400 in the pot and we have had no problems even after 5 years of playing together.

I guess it depends a lot, but I wouldn't play with friends for money that actually meant something. Sure 30-40$ is no problem 'cause everyone can handle loosing it, but to be honest I have had friends that are sore enough loosers to walk out after loosing in soccer, so no I don't think tis a good idea to play for big money with friends, but hey everyone is different.

what a joke. He shouldn't even be playing with money that is going to be paid out. I would stay clear of that place.

i realize that it was mistake but on the other hand you don't expect that from person that you know for some years ... and i thought and still think that playing with adults for reasenable money is not a bad idea surely not when you believe that you can trust this person ... and the amount of the money was high but not out of proportion ... still earn me 400 Euro and in total he has to pay around 1200 ... keep in mind that by in was 250 and rebuy also ... tell you even more and believe it or not but this person is police officer ...

Wow, this friend of yours seem to have a gambling problem... Should convince him to get some help of some kind. Seen it happen way too many times (that ppl are having a gambling problem), he should quit playing before it gets too far....
