I call with 53 suited every time with 5 others in already because of the reward when it hits, and it's a no-brainer to fold when it misses. On most live tables that I've played, 5 callers isn't out of the norm. Live 1 2 tables play like .05 .10 cap games online. I'm not worried about the two hands I lost, that stuff happens and I want the calls(both hands were bet raise shove, if they can't lay down two pair at that point I want to play with them every day). The set checking the flop was the bad play because the 56 was a possibility as well. Slowplaying isn't bad if you can get away from your hand if you can recognize you've been drawn out on and can let your hand go, I've seen more people lose stacks getting stubborn after the draw hits than I can count....

What incredible hands...poker online is rigged? Confused i don't know...but sometimes there are very strange (unreal and inusual) hands Aww crap! Sad

As I said, when you are up against 5 people sure, slowplaying is bad, but necessary for maximum gain when you hit monster hands early. My point from the beginning was that you don't need to fear a gut shot with 53 when you are up against one or two players after a major raise pre flop.

I can assure you that that is in no way proof that online poker is rigged. Poker Stars just had a promotion for their 30 000 000 000 hands dealt, do realise how many "unlikely" hands will have been dealt?

You haven't played live much? The 1 2 B&M games here play like 2 5 or 5 5 games, $10 is just about a min raise, with average raises being 15-25. A $10 raise almost guarantees 4-6 callers, and any raise less than 20 will have at least 2 guys willing to see a flop along with the raiser. It's not uncommon for guys to get it all-in pre-flop with AQ or 1010(that same night, I limped under the gun with JJ planning on a big check-raise when it got back to me, when it came back around there were three people all-in. AJ vs AA and the third push was 99). I'm not trying to be difficult, but live anyway it's not so much hiding the strength of your hand but betting for value. There is always at least one person calling you down with 2nd pair, and the people drawing are apt to push all their chips in the middle.

I agree slow-playing works when playing against skilled opponents who can fold top pair when the story is right, but against the average donk bet hard and often.

Well, I can just say that i wished i played the same players as you did. Where ever I play, 3-4 BB is a standard raise and anything over that usually means a maximum of 2 opponents, oftenly none, and that goes for pretty much all of the levels on all sites I've played, along with most of the live games I've played, though I havn't played much live. But that doesn't really apply, I really don't see how you can question all slow playing based on freaked up live game, if people play like that you hardly have to play at all, just wait for a good hand and push every time.

There are two gentlemen in town that play every day, if they raise pre-flop they have JJ+ or AK suited. I like to have them on my right, so I can muck if they get involved. They give no action at all without a monster, and consistently cash for $600+(in a 1 2 game!). That's how bad the people are in my city, they don't even give respect to the nits when they're raising. Smile Honestly live games at 1 2 are MUCH easier than your standard .50 1 game online, and the payoff is more like 2 5 or 5 10. I flopped a straight flush(with the A) and turned quads one night and was put all in by someone else both times after I'd made my hand.

I guess the 1/2 game is the lowest game on offer in that casino. So you have to expect that the quality of play is similar to the lowest online games.

Guess i should go to Canada for vacation this summer, ought to be able to win the cost for the trip in a day or two Tongue. Well, I have never played a table that bad, except for occasional early freeroll tables of course.
