Posted by awood88: I agree with whiskerer. so much worse when you make a good bluff that no respecting player would possibly call but some idiot calls with bottom pair. you know the hand where someone raises preflop, theres a call and then you call with position. flop comes 776 so you can be pretty sure no ones hit. you bluff and get called and turn is a ten. you've got nothing and want to take the pot now before another scare card so your all in. the only thing you can put your opponent on to call is a ten. but he calls with a pair of 3s. there's no way he could make that call the way you played the hand. thats more annoying than a bad beat because you can forgive bad luck. bad beats are meant to happen. stupid players with no regard for their own money ruin the game.
Never bluff a monkey.
If you know other players are likely to call with weak hands, don't bluff. Value bet!

I had a whole night like that last night.... I did everything right and still lost to so many dumb players... At times like this i like to test myself at a higher level (just for a few games).. I'm often supprised at the difference in style through the levels

You should like players who don't know when to fold and take advantage of them. Because in the long run, the math will play out. But it does hurt when you get a bad beat

Quite often I have met that kind of players at the table who just calls everything and can´t fold. Sometimes it piss you off when they hit on river just like KK pair and you got QQ but also quite often you get lots of money from that kind of players so it could be good or a bad thing.

Just type in the chat "please fold, i am bluffing". It should help.

The other way around you could say, you only get bad beats when oponent doesn't know how to fold

For me a bad beat is when you get someone to make the right moves when you have the best hand and then you get unlucky with the following cards. The person who gave you the bad beat didn't necessarily play bad. We've all dished them out as well as taken them. Poker is a game of chance so bad beats are part of the game. If we had no chance of hitting the miracle card then poker wouldn't be half as good.
No one should complain about bad beats. Get angry at the end of the hand but don't let it ruin your play or your day.
Now idiots and jackass players are not in my opinion good for the game. Players who play terribly and still manage to get lucky are far more annoying. You say you should be able to outplay them but you can't because they turn the game into bingo. No matter how much they lose these people still have money to burn. You see them in rebuy tourneys constantly going all in stopping you from playing skillfully.
I'd rather play a good game with good players and lose all my money than play poker with a table full of donks.

I got AA
and raise
flop 3 (spade) 7 10 (spade)
I raise this guy calls
turn 2 (spade)
I call , he calls
river 9 (spade)
I raise he calls
he got flush spades, shows 1 spade (some low card it was) , and 9
How did he play that hand with no hand, one spade he had, and flop gave two more
at this this point he still had no hand. and he still called
And then next two last where spades
I would almost def have lost my chat privalages here

what i hate most are players who give you a badbeat and then tell you they've made everything right. giving and taking badbeats is just normal when you play poker, but you should be able to know if its a badbeat or not. for me its harder to lose with AA vs 22 than vs KK, because i can undstand someone calling a preflop all-in with KK (especially in SnGs and MTTs or at very loose CG-tables), but in most cases i cannot understand the guy with 22 because the best he can hope for is a coinflip even against a complete bluff
AA against 8Ts (he got a straight on the river) KK against 9J (he got the straight on the turn) AA against JJ (he flopped a set) AK against K9 (flopped K he hits 9 on the river) (lost half stack) AA against 2 guys who got KJ (flop was KJ5)
what a day what a day. all (except AK against K9) were preflop all in. I tought I was getting monster hands, but they all got cracked one after the other, so frustrating.
