that all matters of the situations, i have gone all in with bad cards, but i feel lucky to get a fold from others, that's all matters from situations, so don't be so nervous, just enjoy that you made to the final table

Freeroll is like a big party where all donkeys are invited and play every hand because they don't have nothing to lose.
Depends on the amount of players ( more than 50 or 60 is dramatic ) but if you are calm and able to wait, after few hands you can play better Smile

Freerolls are THE most pointless form of poker on the net. If you dont play them you wont get so pissed at losing.

If you go in with the expectation to get sucked out on at every oppertunity then you'll save your sanity.

You do not see real poker while playing freeroll. Only the luckiest make their way to the final table. I think everyone here has lost with their AA to 93, just because the flop-turn-river was something like K29-6-3 Angry

Freerolls are the best way to get a good understanding of the game with minimal outlay.

The majoriy of the time those whining are the kind that shove all in pre flop with any pocket pair and dont like it when it gets cracked.

The way to approach freerolls is to approach them with the attitude that you will play the best poker you can and even if you lose, you at least played correctly and got your chips in the middle.

So what if someone sucks out. Each time it happens you learn something new. Make notes on players, look at how it could have been avoided. Analyse your own play.

too many people play the game with the impression the aim is to take everyones chips from them and sod the risks. Thats not the case.

The aim of poker is to protect your own stack first and foremost, THEN take your opponents chips if its possible. You shove all in pre flop you have no control over what happens. If you give up control of a hand then you deserve to lose.

Without wanting to put too finer point on it, thats complete b******t...

The standard of play by the time you get to the final table is actually normally as good as any cash game. The idiots have gone out by that time, and the people left are those that know how not to get screwed by fools who cannot lay down a hand.

Look, you can't be serius while playing freeroll. It's the same as play money. You can't learn from them.
It is much better to play $1-3 tournaments where winnings per hour a better. But really good game begins at >$10 bay-in.

You can either play poker or play freerolls. Blink

Freerolls are donkfests. Plan your play accordingly. With "good" poker you will struggle.

You are so right! Freerolls are not poker!

Don't worry that kind of players are everywhere not only on freerolls tournaments. But this is online poker. Anyone can play. You can't stop this. I lose many times in that kind. Sorry about you. Good luck at the tables everyone!

yes you can learn from freerolls.

And play in the $1 Daily Dollar on FTP and you will see that the standard of play is just as bad in that as any freerolls you will play in.

Theres lots of very good players out there with very nice bankrolls all started through freerolls.

The point here is mental attitude. If you take the same attitude as the donks ( ie Its only a freeroll so whos bothered ) then you wont ever learn from them. But go in there as if its a $10 buy in and you will find you play infinitely better and win more.

I get as wound up getting KOd out of a freeroll as I do getting KOd in a $10 buy in game..

Freeroll has one good thing. Its the best way to experience the gamed played against professionals because, like them, you never know what your opponent have in the hand...

If you play freerolls the main key to have sucess is play the minimum hands possible and always try to play vs 1 opponent you will increase your range, equity, just benifits, of course you will face a bad beat that's normal on poker, sometimes I raise with marginal hands when I have position and sometimes I can get good pots with it, so you will need to get used and create some strategy for your own style !

FREEROLLS ARE NOT POINTLESS,IN FACT FAR FROM IT. AFTER 45MINS TO AN HOUR THE DONK ALL INNERS HAVE EITHER BEEN KOd OR HAVE ENOUGH CHIPS TO PLAY PROPERLY,SOME DO TAKE HOURS TO PLAY BUT LOOK AT FERGUSON,HE TURNED NOTHING INTO 10K SO DONT DISS THE FREEROLLS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went all in with AK? What were YOU thinking ?

I take that as a joke Tongue but u being from where u are.. i'll explain Blink
one min raise before, huge blinds, two med stacks in blinds. didn't find anything better to do with my AK s.

Have to agree with my fellow scandinavian mate here. Going all-in in late levels against medium stacks could send a signal your bluffing and they might call you with just about anything. Unless you have AA or KK, all-in is NEVER an option pre-flop in my opinion. A typical 3 or 4 times BB is always a good bet if your medium stacked (10xBB+) or large stacked (24BB+). Then you can afford to lay it down if you're called and hit a flop of say 10 10 8 with AK and similar. Same goes with QQ, JJ and AQ. As I've said before....in a tourney your main target is to stay alive - NOT to have the biggest stack all the way. I made 500$ in MTT's this week alone and mainly because I was able to lay down AK, QQ and such. Just my two cents.....oh...and freerolls are no fun unless it's hosted by BRM! Blink [/QUOTE]
Very insightful. Expect more practical tips on the relative importance of hands in Texas Hold'em from you. Also, when you lay down AK with a 10 10 8 flop, do you judge if your opponent is bluffing, which is difficult to do in online games.

Give me a break guys.

What in the name of poker are you guys crying about?

You would think that you have never seen a Pro push all in with crap before.

How many of you would call all in with AQ off suit in your hand with AKQ off suit on the flop? and how many would lay the hand down?

Only a fish would call with that hand: Now would you like reappraise what you call a fish? or are you going to tell me you would fold?
