i came across this forum which allows you to place bets on sports (virtual, not real money) and i was thinking it could work (with some tinkering) with our mob points, you could make it like a tote board as in we are only betting against ourselves, example, 5 people wager 10 mob point each on manchester, and 1 person wages 10 points on there opponent, there for manchesters dividend would be 12 mob points if they won, if there opponents win the dividend would be 60 mob points, allthough im sure people would be a lot larger than that, this would only cost the BRM minimal expence to start up the program and as an added bonus they could charge 5%/10% on all winnings, admin could nominate 2/3 events each week to bet on, here is the address to the forum i was talking about, it doesnt compete with the BRM in any way. http://www.bigcricket.com/forum/t61085/ what do you all think??
Seems a very interesting idea but, for my english not so good as it should be, I'm afraid not to have understood all. By the way with further explanations probably I would play it

I must admit I haven't tried to understand exactly what you're saying But as I understand, it's about allow members to bet against eachother on certain matches that we select every week, and we would charge a commision for it.
Of course it's possible, but the problem is that MobPoints have a real money value, so we can't just allow unlimited betting, we would have to put a max on each game, or something like that.

But there's not gonna be much to bet on, if nobody is willing to take the bet Users have to "put points out there" first, in order for other users to win it. Like with betfair.
Ie. I would like to give odds 1.8 on a certain outcome of a game, I will be willing to risk 500 MobPoints. So the maximum that somebody can bet against me is 277 points. They bet that, and they win, they get all 500 points. They cannot bet more than 277 points as the max available to be won for that odds, is 500.

"$1.80" is a money value I assume you mean 1.80. But no we will not set (define) the odds, it was just an example. The odds are to be decided by the user who wants to risk his MobPoints by offering certain odds.
For example, I wouldn't mind risking $1000 to odds 1.01 that AaB will beat Manchester City tonight - if somebody wants to play odds 1.01 at that, then it's a very good deal for me But I certainly wouldn't offer odds 400 on AaB victory...

Posted by umarplus: hey! that would mean we can bet Mobpoints on the epic HU-battle between Admin and Shaun! (when it finally happens)
That's right. But only if I can convince the management to allow "MobBetting" It takes time to program and there's also certain aspects we need to consider, since it's possible to cashout MobPoints for dollars.
