Played a MTT on poker stars last night with 4300 entrants, down to 30 when this hand happened and I was sitting comfortable at chip leader looking to final table. Had a pretty tight image at the table no recent bluffs so had respect at the table. Then I get dealt the pocket rockets and this happens:

Obviously pre flop I put Felipe fe or aq/aj or maybe jj/1010 and once flop came out cemented my mind on aq
Ludo i wasnt to sure about, i didnt put on queens as i thought he would hav re-raised pre flop. When flop came out i re raised myself all in to push him off flush draw any weaker pocket pair. Maybe i should hav flat called felipe fe's all in to see the turn and could have got away with minimal loss. Obviously when turn came down i was fuming, dont see how ludo can a) call a preflop re raise with qj surely its not good and then to call an all in, with the q on the flop he cant have thought his jack kicker was best?!
Like to see your opinions on this hand and how you would have played it - personally i thought it played itself and i would have got away with 400k if it wasnt for ludo's donk play.

i was down to 7 bb shoved with kq on the sb, bb had 10s and i didnt get lucky came out round 27th the guy with qj went out 17th - obv made some donk moves again as he had chip lead with that suck out guy with aq finished 8th i was just completely bemused that ludo guy had lasted so long he cant have been that lucky the whole tournament!
M3turbo completely agree out of poisition with qj calling a re raise pre flop is just simple poker no no, call on the flop was horrible how can he think his q with j kicker is good il never no! ah well always next time lol

yeh the aq doesnt bother me after pre flop hittin his ace or queen i would expect him to push all in hope i had jjs or worse plus had he covered by a big margin, its the qj that took most of my stack that i found sickening! how can a donk last that long in an mtt with 4000+ players i just dnt no

I noticed at the top of the hand history it says you were playing in a $1 MTT. Even with only 30 players left I am not suprised by the plays of either of your opponents. This kind of poker comes as standard in the lower stakes. Donks hit a pair and shove their whole stack. God knows I always do. My advice is ALWAYS fold aces anytime you are within 3 tables of the final table. If possible, wait for a better spot like being dealt 57o UTG and then represent a monster by min raising every street. The desired result is that your minute bets will confuse your opponents into folding their made hands before a showdown, alternatively when this fails it's possible you'll suceed in sucking out on one of your aformentioned opponents on the river, then the tables will be turned and now you'll be the one having the last laugh whilst they cry into their cornflakes. As a plan B for this advanced strategy, if you find you get called every street and are forced to reveal your hand on the river, simply reiterate the old maxim "ah, well I guess you just can't bluff a calling station" and comfort yourself with the thought that although you may not have cashed in this particular tourney, you hit your own jackpot by claiming a moral victory over your unwitting adversary. If all else fails, it could be worth starting a pertition and sending it to Mr. D. Harrington to inform him that his TAG style, although effective, keeps getting sucked out on in the lower stakes. I will be the first one to sign it if you like. Hope this helps.

Had a pretty tight image at the table no recent bluffs so had respect at the table. Then I get dealt the pocket rockets and this happens: Tight chip leader?? bully the MFs , not sure about the respect thing? What were the blinds when this happend? I personally would have pushed all at this stage of the game, thinking the early raiser will play, if not ludo040185 is witout a doubt a donk, you played it well and lost to lady luck.

B1gfoot agree with your statements probably should have been abusing my stack more but the play at the table was very loose people playin 410 suited mid position etc.. so I had made my stack with tight play and good timed bluffs, plus i guess i was playing tight to conserve my stack and reach the final table lol which i suppose is a donk move in itself
blinds were 3.5/7k i did consider pushin all pre flop but wasnt sure if that wud push off early raiser with mid pair figured a big re raise would put all moderate hands off
yeah $1 mtt are full of donks but really thought that by the last 30 it would just be good players left as to get that far on luck alone must be very rare
ah well at least i learnt a lot gettin to that point and can safe in the fact i played it well cheers 4 ur comments guys well appreciated!
