There are different kind of speed tourneys... some of them are really really fast, almost all about luck. I don't like those... But sometimes speed games are better i think... like 6 players sit&gos, because it can get very boring when blinds raises so slow...

the thing with speed tournament is you can't play real poker (my opinion) you can't wait for good hands and play only those good hands...from the beginning everybody tries to be lucky If you wait to long the blinds are so big you just bleed dead grtz ben

) its a turbo or a speed MTT or SNG, you actually dont have to wait for a premium hand...if you have somthin' and if u have a good postion all in...whne the blinds are higher you need to stole blinds, byt be carefull some fishes might call you, so its better to take player notes..and in my opinion i dont like MTT speed or turbo, you cannot apply your strategy if u are TAG...so i like turbo sng good luck

I love the speed tourneys specially at luch. Great concept. A speed tourney takes 40-50 min to complete and my lunch break lasts 1 h so it's perfect when you don't have anything to do at the job. The influence of luck is very big (much higher than in normal MTT) so don't waste your chips on waiting for hands like AA, KK, AK ... a 7-8 suited is acutally a good hand in speed tourneys

Hey Trafo, thanks for the post. I imagined that the strategy would be exactly that, but I asked anyway just to be sure. Since it was my first time playing like that I wanted to know other people´s opinions.
It was my first and LAST time playing SPEED tourneys!

Is it only me who likes them and find them fascinating? I mean something it's relaxing just playing on pure luck and don't have to think about making the right choices all the time. All in with 7-2!!

speed tournies bank largely on luck.. my personal style on speed tourney (which works for me most of the time) wait for fairly good hands if you have a really good on you have to go all in and let it ride out... at the end if you have a good chip count.. like 30,000 compared to 10,000 at the final table play slower and wait for a time to strike until then let the blinds cripple your opponents... works fairly well for me

Speed tournaments is in my mind all about being the most crazy, also it's where a butload of the donks go.. New players just trying out poker go there and blow money, atleast it seems so to me. Its all about waiting for a good hand for me, and then totally crush the players that keep callin with ATC. Reads is also a very good thing to have here, helps alot when some dude pounds u all in and u know that he does that with alot of varies of hands.. Atleast thats how it is for me, works pretty good the agressive side of theese games aswell, faster way to make easy money ;D
