Hi there,
Blinds are $10/$20, we each have $1500. 1st hand.
My opponent is in the big blind and I'm in the small blind. I get AQo and decide just to call, since I dont know the person and it's our first hand. She is ALL-IN!!! I do not hesitate for a second and calls. Was that too much? $1500 is 75 blinds.
The outcome was that she showed 44 and I got an ace on the flop and won, but what would you have done?

First hand? I wud fold for sure. You dont know ur oponent. Problably he has a pair, AK, AQ, so basicly a coinflip, why you want a coinflip in the first hand? If your a good HU player you can bring him down but not risk a coinflip in the first hand.

She is stupid beyond all recognition for even going all in with such a mediocre hand, especially with the blinds so low.. I mean seriously whats the point..
But to call with AQ ??? what on gods earth were you doing ? this is poker you are playing not bloody BINGO

Preflop raise always. That's a very strong hand in HU, you should raise unless you know you can trap your opponent, when you know him/her. You are a slightly underdog to any pocket pair and in a very bad situation against AK or QQ+. I should fold, study the opponent a bit more, and if he/she is so dumb aggressive it will be easy to trap him/her with a strong hand.
But a call with AQ to an allin in a HU is not a bad play, you are ahead most of the time, but if you don't know your opponent, you can be risking to much.

Against an complete unknown it is a fold. If he is good you either have a flip or are crushed. If he is bad you will find better spots to get his chips.

If you don't know how to gamble, you don't know how to play poker.
If i would know opponent pushes all-in with ATC, and there are a lot of those players on that site, i would snappcall with AQ. You are at least a 60 to 40 favorite, and the games are over fast. Swings will be high, but this will generate a lot of $$$ every hour.

I actually agree with you. Afterwards I kind of questioned my own decision and this is also why I created this topic here. I dont know what I was thinking, but I saw her as a NDB ticket player, but this is still no excuse to call.
What hands would you call an ALLIN with? AA + KK? Fold the rest? Is QQ enough? AK?

i would have folded, for reasons already mentioned. There will be other opportunities to win, why risk it all in a situation where you have no information.
I would fold just not to risk all bankroll first hand. Different if you have AA,KK or QQ, to risk always. How did you know SHE was a woman ? Did you call for this too ? Just to know, simple curiosity

PKR uses 3D models/avatars (which you customise, clothe, etc).. so I'd imagine it'd be pretty easy to tell it's a woman (or at least, a guy who'd picked a woman avatar)
I had similiar situation but it was me who was holding a pair, KK in my case. I decided to pretend to be a donk and went all in in first hand. Villain called with something like 55-77, just easy win.

I would fold because u just called BB which was 20$. Your putting 1480 more into a pot of nothing with AQos. Either she has u dominated or either it's a coin flip. She could have 2 7 and it still would b almost a coin flip and if she had AK, AA, KK, QQ then u are dominated.
