Please find below my suggestion for fixing Britain's economy. Instead of giving billions of pounds to banks that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan :
There are about 20 million people over 50 in the work force. - Pay them £1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
1) They MUST retire. Twenty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.
2) They MUST buy a new British CAR. Twenty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.
3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.
4) They must send their kids to school / college /university - Crime rate fixed
5) Buy £50 of alcohol / tobacco a week there's your money back in duty / tax etc
It can't get any easier than that!
P.S. If more money is needed, have all members of parliament pay back their falsely claimed expenses and second home allowances. If you think this would work, please forward to everyone you know. If not, please disregard.

2 trillion give away, whos going to fund that? A new british car, ok ill have a t1, chit im not over 50. damn that rule. Does not help the housing situation. But all else is good , apart from the fact banks have no money and cant fund set up business or fund those low on funds so there goes more jobs more business, but hey the over 50 are doing well. Intresting idea, some flaws, ill wait untill im 50.

anyway if they get that £1 million, they couldn't buy anything, becouse prices would go up quicker than you think, becouse there inflaction would work to, that is one of basic of economy, so your idea it isnt so good as You think

That really is a great idea. Do you mind if i translate it to portuguese and send it to one or two politicians i know? I think they would love to present this on the Parlament... Once i thought of proposing everybody in the world to join all the existing money and share to everyone in equal parts, but then i remembered of the already existing difference bettween countries, bettween development, and i concluded that in a few days all the problems would come back... but, hey, your idea looks better so, lets force them politicians to do it!

This is a decent idea. Flawed, yes. But the basic idea of it is proving to be productive in the US. The Obama administration's economic stimulus plan is working, because they gave the money to those who needed it (infrastructure, public services, etc), unlike the Bush administration who gave all theirs to the banks. We all know how much of an idiot Bush is. Obama did the right thing, and now their economy is on the up-swing.
I highly doubt the British government even HAS 20 trillion at its disposal, let alone can afford to give it away and still afford to pay for all other public services. Nice try, but no cigar. But I agree that banks should NOT get ANY of it! They're the ones who made this happen by giving loans on bad terms, and now the taxpayers are supposed to pay for their mistakes AND give them MORE money?!?! I think not.

First of all, all those Nostradamus "prophecies" where they apparently came true were only "realized" after the facts of the incidents happening, and even so, the interpreters of Nostradamus' writings really screwed with s**t. "Oh yeah, so if you reverse these letters, and you take this letter out and put this letter in and read it upside down, LOOK! it says Obama is the antichrist!" Yeah, uhhh no. I could take any word and f**k with it until it said what I want it to. Second of all...Nostradamus made hundreds of predictions, many of which proved to be untrue. His accuracy was about a coin flip, and that's even being generous. Personally, I take any of his writings with a grain of salt..and any person with some logic or critical thinking abilities should do the same.
Sorry for the rant...I just had to get that off my chest

Yeah, I was talking about that. It wasn't an affiliate link. I was just trying to allow people to become aware of its existence.
I know exactly what you're thinking, man...but know this: I'm a university philosophy student and I research this every day. The thing you have to understand is that if there is evidence FOR something, but insufficient evidence AGAINST it, then one should logically believe that it is true; and vice-versa. In the MMS case, I have yet to see one debunking of it, and I have scoured the net. Believe me, if I'm proved wrong, I have no problem admitting it, and will learn from the experience.
As far as the Nostradamus thing...I have read both sides of the story, and have deduced that, like I said, his predictions should be taken with a grain of salt. Sorry if it seemed like I was being a d**k about it...it wasn't a direct attack on your character...I was merely ranting with passion, and the language I used I can't use in my papers, so informal forums like this is where I get to let loose.

the economy went tits up, but its just numbers, its a made up system that was always destin to fail, it just needs resetting now and then.
So you've seen Zeitgesit: Addendum Excellent movie! I especially enjoyed the third part, concerning the Venus Project. I like watching and reading enlightening information on socio-economic topics, but appreciate it so much more when someone actually provides a possible solution to the problem.
