I just came back from school after playing live poker all day and all night (no sleep) and I feel like I'm in a strange world from exhaustion. I don't really see how people can play poker for 3 or 4 days straight (Doyle said that his longest poker session was 5 days and 5 nights straight, leaving the table only to go to the bathroom). So anyway in the early hours when everybody was tired most of my opponents had switched to auto-pilot and I ended up making a profit after losing most of the night (but I was still having a hard time focusing). What is your longest poker session (live or online)

I like to play only two or three hours not more than that because our atention goes down very easily and we make mistakes easily! Doyle brunson said that!? For me it is difficult to believe our body cant take so many hours without sleeping and being focus, it is impossible!

I think that its 4-5 hours. If i do, more i try to make some break (like 1 hour). It can be more if u do some big mtts (that can take 6 or 10 hours !!)
But all of this is bad for your health (and might be bad for your bankroll XD ) -_- so be careful!!

I usually play for 4-5 hrs as i start losing concentration. my longest poker session has been 11 hrs, my head was spinning after that only. 5 days thats way too much for me.

I think it's easier to play long live sessions than long sessions on the computer. In live poker you can talk to other players about different things to keep yourself from falling asleep an the table. On the computer your eyes get tired and your body becomes stiff, I get bored much quicker without the chips in front of me (i play a lot with them )

When im online i notice a deteriation in my play after about 2 hours. sad i know but i have come to terms with it lol I have had some long session in the past but that has been when a friend has come over and we play together (on the P.C.) Live is very different for me... the atmospher is much better and it seems to stave off the bordom and monotany of stairing at the screen. Playing live i've played for 6 hours and felt good at the end of it... I would like to be able to play for about 4 / 5 hours then id go in for more MTT's and try to get some big wins...Ha Ha Ha If you have consentration issues try to get up and move about a little it does help a bit but dont try and do something else as well as play poker in my experience it only distracts you from the job at hand. I smoke but we (my wife and I) do not smoke in the house as we have children so i need to go outside during the breaks of long games or inbetween SnG's wich can be good or bad some times it helps to get up and move about other times it takes my mind of the task at hand and i loose the plot a bit..
