I often listen to my favourite music while playing online poker. Do you think it is usefull to be more concentrated while playing or do you feel distracted by it?
I listen to it, because i get bored quickly by only playing and waiting till its my turn. Moreover, what kind of music do you prefer while playing, if you listen to it? Why do you listen to music while playing?

I listern to any thing that rocks some thing like brum and bass or hard RnB anything to keep the blood pumping is good for me ...lol
Somthing that can take you away from the pain of sitting there with out cards usually stops me from being stupid and loosing with crap cards wich really does my head in.
So pendulum slam is really good for me to listern to when playing.
or
Some regga is aslo good it chills me out and ill sit there for hours and hours waiting with no signs of sillyness.....

I find that if i am not multi-tabeling some kind of entertainment inbetween hands keeps me focused and allows me to play better. If I sit at one table without some music on, or the t.v I start to play marginal hands to force the action and this doesnt always end well. While playing I enjoy any kind of metal(slayer, cradle of filth, gorod, gorgoroth,metallica ect ect) or rap(eminem, dre, snoop,ludacris). If im not in the mood for music I will usually join a few low level buy in MTT along with a ring game so the hands come more frequently and im not waiting to long inbetween.

I have to listen to music, the "krrr", "chk", "krrr", "pling!" sounds make me go crazy otherwise. It's like working at the register at a grocery store or something, those damn sounds. But I can't turn them off, because then it would be like watching the tv without sound. So: music! Mellow background music: dub, reggae, jazz, psychedelic old funky stuff.

All the time, music creates a good environment to play. If I play only music you are used to listen it will not distract me. Usually I listen Rock/Punk/Metal, but after a series of bad beats Mozart, Beethoven and Vivaldi are excellent anti tilt sounds.

Is it only me, or do you all also think that when you are WINNING the music you are listening too sounds great ... but when you are LOOSING the music quickly becomes annoying and you have to pause it..

just listen to all msic,whatever tickles your fancy.i love to listen to iron maiden or metallica for my poker inspiration.queen isnt so bad eighther.and of course at he moment nothing beats michael jackson.

putting on some music while playing poker can be nice, but i do prefer some relaxing background music which still allows me to focus on my game.. because that's necessary
Really? Cuz the clusterf*ck of crap on the TV always distracts me, personally. I listen to stuff that's melodic, yet heavy. Like Opeth, In Flames, Children of Bodom
