thats a hard question no? my answer : i dont think im a good player, but i dont think im a bad player, since im in the minority that can win money by playing poker (not so much, but it still some money ^^ ) ! However, for me, there is only one way to be a good player : a player that win money, he dont have a definit style of play : you just adapt his play to his opponents, he learn fast, can remember his mistakes, he keep always his head cool, he is honest... what else?

i just started about 1 week ago and I barely get into the bubble and often loose. So I guess I am still a bad player. But I think I am getting better slowly.

I am a winning player at low and middle stakes SNG. I am better then average player on these stakes. I problably am a winning player or break even on higher stakes ($50/$100)
That wud make me a good player?

I am a great player, i can prob make over 100 dollars in one day. Am I a winning player? Hell NO!, the reson is every time I win money I go and enter a big tourney and loose it all. So there you have it, you can still be a great player and still loose.
Look at Gus Hansen (My poker Idol) he has won so many millions, but still publicaly states that he has money problems because of sports betting.
So if you wanna be a winning player, bank roll management is vital. Probably even more important then actually being good. GL to everyone out there.
I had a lot of Up- & Downswings at the beginning and I started tilting, when I lost money to bad beats. My start was good, I went from 50$ to 164$ (114$ Profit) within a week, but at the end I lost all my money in about 15mins.
After this disaster, I decided to take a break from Poker and I started to learn more about it. I knew an inprovement of my strategy was needed, or else I wouldnt stay in the black for much longer than a week.
Since then I 've been reading a lot on Forums (the best one is the "2+2" forum, because a lot of pros are in there, like tom durrrr dwan etc) and i started studying the game.
Well, now Im playing again since a month and I rapidly went from -40$ to 216$ (256$ profit), with only few (2!! -not huge loses, just - 10/20$) downswings and I didnt play much at all, maybe 20hours if not less. My Bankrollmanangement is almost perfect and Im not tilting anymore, I hope I can keep it like that.
Edit: I uploaded a screen, just to proof my story.

Yes I think im a good player in the games I play but if I sat down on a random NL1K table I would probably be the worst player at the table. 1 thing all winning players have in common is that they all play games where they are better than average. You can be the 4th best pokerplayer in the world and still be losing if you only play against the 3 best players in the world.

Im probably the best player on this side of the universe, you will know me as when I sit ppl leave, when i leave a table ppl start breathing again, I make your play look weak, i bully, ill wait for the trap, ill spot your bluff and take it down, i thrive on any weakness in your game and expose it to outhers, i know when to hold em and when to fold them, but ultimatly I ware ray banners.

I would class my self as "a player" rather than "a good player" as i like top play..... Also i would say that "a player" can be a good player as long as he or she is winning. As i belive even if you play well "good" and loose then you would still feel like a "poor / bad player" Even some of the bad beats we all get can be avoided and lets face it when we do walk into them we all ways belive we could have got away from that hand.... or we wouldn't go back for more.. Good player Bad player i dont really care as long as im playing...LOL

I think I'm average, and bad with drink in me. If I was good, if any of us were really very good, we wouldn't be on BRM looking for freebies as we'd be millionaires

I think I am a good player, but sometimes psychologically I can became a bad player. I think it has a big role, we have to be calm and play always with patience and concentration. Poker is a skill game if we play it with our full capacities our results will be much better!

I don't think I'm the good player, but I think that my winrate is smaller that it should be I mean I see that almost everybody at the table plays worse but wins otherwise. Can't explain that
