Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. It couldn't hurt. Worst case scenario, it gives you more info and enriches your perspective on playing poker. But long-term, it really depends on how well you play when it counts.

I don't think any program can help you. Because they are only programs and work based on programming commands. They have limited knowledge. Not helpful in my opinion.

Dark have you ever used a tracker - preferably one of the four I mention. They can be used for many different things.

Finding leaks in your play, tracking you progress/winnings, keeping a "real time" track off your opponents tendencies, as well as any history of any past meetings.

If you're muti tabling then there is no substitute for a tracker. How are you going to put your opponent on an accurate hand range when you have no/little idea of how they play.

Knowing how often they raise pre flop, limp/call, 3-bet, C-bet, ect is vital info on knowing how to play optimal poker against each individual player.

Agreed.

Obtaining and understanding this software is soooooo +ev it's ridiculous!

The four different products that Dellbo has mentioned are the best imo too but, you've got to be willing to put some time in getting familiar with their functions.

Do it, you wont regret it long term.

is it legal to use? I know there are many like hold'm hawk and stuff that are not allowed, and if you do your account gets blocked and you can kiss your money goodbey and that I want to avoid .

i would assume so as they offer the pro version free if you make a deposit at one of the sites that support it

Many of these programs are legal and authorized by the poker sites. Many programs are banned by the poker sites.

All the poker sites I know have a banned/allowed list often hidden deep in there site or if in doubt you can email support and they'll tell you if a program is allowable.

Poker Office, Holdem Manager, and Poker Tracker are all perfectly legal at all the main poker sites and networks.

To purchase one of theses programs, there are many different offers on many different sites - but you pay for them one way or another. I prefer just to buy one and then get a good deal on rakeback and bonuses at a site of my choosing.

To trial them though you do get the full version. It just only lasts for 2 weeks.

I think they can push you in to situation that you could get out of if you didnt have so much info on a player you might think better of pushing them...
But on the other hand i suppose the more info you have the better as long as its good info...... Blink

I think a program that tracks your opponent is a must unless you just play 1-2 tables, take notes on players, focus on every hand and have a good memory. Now, with a calculator, everything that it does can be learned by the player.

if u want 2 become better at poker using a program won't help it will only slow u down by doing all the hard part of poker for u. When u sit at a table u usually play against the same players for at least an hour. You can tell who plays tight who plays loose and who bluffs a lot who barely ever bluffs who is aggressive who is passive who steals blinds often who never steals blinds if position matters or doesn't 2 him if he changes gears or plays the same all the time, ect. U can write down on notes like Aggressive/Tight/Rarely Bluffs/Never steals blinds/Doesn't change gears. There is a lot more then just that. I usually write about 5-10 comments/person after playing about 3-4hrs with the same person or about 500 hands.

I think so, too.

In my opionion, these progs are just to get as much informations, of your opponents, as possible. I personally play 4 tables at the same time and it would be too much for me to pay attention at all my opponents play, 6 players on each table, thats 23 players to take care of, its impossible!

Of course they help,i think it's not fair players to get statistics about others that way.

For me, I do not even need.

i don't think so. Strategy guides are very usefull. Specially if you are a rookie.

Use some of your time to read some text about strategy, you won't regreat this.
