World Record Attempt: PS versus FTP  0
After FTP announced their attempt to break the world record for number of participants in a tourney, PokerStars decided they would have none of that so they created another world record attempt of their own ON THE SAME DAY as the FTP tourney Tongue

so here are the tourney info for both sites:

FULL TILT POKER
Date: Sunday July 19th 15:00 ET
Buyin: $5 or 1000FTP
Prize pool: $500,000

POKERSTARS
Date: Sunday July 19th 14:10 ET
Buyin: $1 or (freeroll your way in with freerolls running EVERY hour. Top 1000! go into the WR tourney)
Prize pool: $100,000

Notice the Pokerstars tourney will begin 50 minutes before the FTP one, with just $1 or you can basically freeroll your way into a 100k gtn'd tourney. It's like Stars is telling FTP that they run the show Big Smile

It'll be interesting to see if FTP will change the conditions of their tourney, maybe lower the buyin. Problem is, I don't see how FTP software can handle that much in a tourney but we'll see.. Evil

Stars has double the player base than Full Tilt. If they want to keep the world record, they can easily do it. But $100.000 price pool? Come on.

Pokerstars will win easy. dont know about full tilt, but there is alot of freerolls on pokerstars. and people cant unregister win they win a seat from a freeroll, so from the freerolls alone they should get over 18000 alone, + all the satelits.

pokerstars will pretty much get double as many as full tilt.

I think so, too.

But I cant wait to play at the FTP record challenge, its nice to be a part of it, the prizepool is great and the buy-in is very low. Only the amount of players is a bit too high, but no problem.. Cool

No doubt poker stars will have more players as they have more player base and low buyin even though they have added less to prize pool.

Pokerstars will do it, $1 buyin and freerolls, FTP dont stand a chance. It is amusing to see sites compete like that.

What a donks you are? You really think that the pokerstars tourneys is going 2 run well and it is going 2 be A donkeyparty with all that free entries. I tought that pokerstars could do better than come op with a cheap 1$ tourney with 100.000$ in pool And look how you all talking Pokerstars is running your game in my opinion.

I will play both tournaments, but I prefer the full tilt tournament, because there is a much bigger prize.

Will end up with at least 80k players. Stars can handle that. But I have my doubts if Full Tilt servers are up to the task.

FT look like small fish now, should have just let it go.
Also was told the trial run in a special freeroll PS did went bad, 1 hand per level.(65k players)(5hrs to compleat and it was a turbo with ante s starting at level 8.)
Yer and Im with you think FT will have some issues tonight.
It will be real bad for them after the last week or so.
