The Canadian Poker pro, Daniel Negreanu, is at the moment in very stormy weather after that he wrote some personal thoughts about the American TV-channel 'Black Entertainment Network" in his blog. Here are some parts of the blog post that have made so many people upset.
"While I was playing a mixed 400/800 game, listened to music, and watched BET (black entertainment), it suddenly hit me. How on [...] Read more » Daniel Negreanu accused of being a racist
Well perhaps wrong is a bit strong but this old reversal of racism debate is a bit dull. My guess is the guy was going for a bit of sensationalism as seems to be his way and as usual it worked. Perhaps think that black artists don't get as many opportunities as white ones therefore having their own outlet is no worse than black folk having to endure say mainstream tv where they are underrepresented. Black people make up a huge part of this world yet are still severely lagging in the fair treatment dept in most entertainment areas. If you can't get into mainstream you start your own stream - simple as. Mr negreanu instead of making matters worse by his lack of knowledge should stick to poker where i hear he's moderately capable.

"I watch the channel, and I hope that's no problem. It's just the thought if for example a guy in Alabama would start a TV-network and call it "White Entertainment Television/group". My Guess is that people would get really angry and upset then."
I am an equal rights strong supporter, but I have to write the following:
White supremacists: racists, nazis, ... I agree. Black supremacists: can anyone call them racists without being labeled as a racist/white supremacist?
The oposite of bad does't always mean good, much times the extreme opposite can be equaly bad.

I've always though the same as Daniel about the MOBO's ( Music of Black Origin ) witch is a body that gives music awards to primarily to black artists but not exclusively.
Blacks don't need their own music awards as they rule the music world anyway and most music has black origins too.
I can understand blacks needing their own bodies in areas of life where they are severely under-represented but the music scene ain't one of them.
------------ I wonder if this has any thing to do with him portraying his " black friend" Dexter, in a recent video clip.
Dexter is Daniel blacked up - I'd post a link if I was allowed. So you guys will have to google for it if you wanna see it

That was exectly my thought. You couldn't do that. his toughts are 100% correct and there is no rassism in it. The opposit is the case, it's a thought of equality. Like racpxt said, there is some grave unequality an Daila Negranu pointed on it.

Nor me Dellboy99, ant that also goes for women(as in women only events) a men only event is sexist. But you call ebony ppl black so now you are a racist. I love phrases like im proud to be black, no white etc man says this, and why is there a need to feel proud about what colour you are? I gotta put chris rock on later. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8bCspdOdOo

He is not making racist comments, he is analysing the question, and very well by the way. In Portugal there is the "Black" magazine, which only enterviews black people. Noone blaims, but if the leader of the extreme right movement in Portugal decides to publish the "White" magazine, everyone will go against him and start calling him a racist. Whats right and wrong here? Lets all read Nietzsche's "Beyond Good and Evil: Prelude to a Philosophy of the Future", perhaps it can help us all!
