Depends on the sit
I lend alot of cash to my pokerfriends, but I always get it back
it depends on the background and also, if they are winning players in poker or not. I often loan a 1000€ buy in to some people , but I know they are good for it
Newbies or people I hardly know, 0 chance ofcourse BUt i never gave money for playing roulette or whatever. When I loan, I was always there, so its more like a STAKE for the poker tables.
I wud never loan to a losing player playing casino games besides poker. Just don't feel yourself forced to laon your friend, even when he is losing. I have a list of 20-30 people that can always loan from me coz they always paid me back, within a few days. Just follow instinct, if U don't feel comfortable and U need the cash urself, don't loan
If U can miss it, for a while, U might consider it.

no loaning for gambling, as somone said before u can lose money and friend. but if a good friend is in trouble I fell comfortable if I can help him, no matter when he will give me back money ... and if I can bear it I can also lose my money but will always have a good friend.
only important thing is to understand who is a good friend and who is not.
I don't loan money to friends, but I can stake money to friends with deals etc... and indeed stake money which I can afford to lose... not out of my bankroll

If they have to loan money, normally is because they dont have any, im not willing to take money of ppl who cant afford to give, so I dont lend money, I am more than happy to buy beers or entry to events etc. If they have money just no access at that time then yer fine.
so "who would loan money to a friend knowing that it is for playing poker or whatever games in a casino" Only if there is a reason that they cant use there own.

If you give money to a friend for poker play you shall always consider the money to be a "gift" ... you shall not expect to get them back = no big sum of

i would never loan money to a friend unless i could afford never to see that money again, and know that it wouldnt interrupt my friendship with that friend. That is the most important factor to me when helping friends out. Than at a latter stage of course it depends on whether this friend has loaned from me before and always paid it back. I have a good friend that ran into some trouble and he still havent repaid me. I am still his good friend though. But i wouldnt loan him any more money. Its ok to help someone out once or maybe twice. If they dont repay. But if its a reputativ behaviour from a person than perhaps that person needs to learn how to stand on his own feet and be responsible, learn how to grow up. Sometimes people need to fall down quite hard before learning that lesson. under those circumstances i can still be their friend and support them emotionally. But loaning them money in that scenario would be an unfavour to them.
------------ and i wouldnt care about what my friend is going to use the money for. If i decide to loan someone money i am not bank, just a friend, and therefore i dont care what the money is for.

my basic premise for loaning money is this....only if i can afford not to get it back.....i have a friend that auctually put some money on a credit card for a friend....and then got stuck for it all....she couldn't afford to do it in the first place...
as mentioned ; by loaning money you can lose the money and a friend real quick....
for food, rent, car payment etc....NEVER EVER FOR GAMES OF CHANCE!!!!
