Was this a bad laydown?  0
I'm fairly short-stacked in a tournament.

I get dealt AQ offsuit in the BB.

Everyone folds to the button who min raises, then the little blind re-raises three times the BB.

I fold.

Is this a bad play? I think it was now that I look back.

The button then moved all in which is irrelevant

it depends how many big blinds you had left? if 10 or under then u needed to push

YES, bad play. The splain may be over ur head.

1. Short stack, not good.
2. Button min-raises???? what is that?
3. I think you mean 'small blind', but 'little' works. 3bets isolation move. Can explain all of this.
...
...
7. Ur only move is allin. Why, 123 add to 6, so you must make the 7th play here.

I can guess, why u short stacked.

Miniraise = obv lightsteal, or a very powerfull hand ( Top 5 premiums)
SB RR... he doesnt want U in the pot anywayz.

Just need more info on the 3 stacks please.

Blinds 200/400

I had 5,000

Tournament Average was about 7,500.

Button had 11 k

Little blind had over 20.

(slightly rounded clearly)

In your pos, i would fold it and wait for the next round / better spot.

just the fact that there is a raise, Reraise.

Don't forget, two bigger stacks were looking to fight eachother maybe ?
U must beaten preflop anywayz. i can't imagine the SB would reraise the BS on the table with AIR.

Yeah.. I later pushed with AQ off and lost to A8 in the tournament.

I got up to about 10 K and I was against the second chip leader. One guy with 2k ish pushed preflop and the big stack called behind me and I called to.

Flop

3A8.

He checks, I bet 3/4 pot, more or less committing myself. He put me all in. I called, pretty much knowing he had me. Just a dumb play on my behalf.

oh dealer vs small blind.

Dealer pushed all in, dude called.

Flop: AQA. That's why I posted this, I was steaming for not pushing. It was Poc 10 vs Poc K

interesting spot whether its a fold or push depends on my two opponents.

If the button raiser has shown a good solid game and you believe he has min raised just to get some action for his big hand and to give the appearance that you still have some fold equity. If you believe the same is true of the SB then AQ is an easy insta fold.

If you believe they're just a couple of min raising retards then it's an insta push.

Looks like you made the correct read by finding a fold here.

Never mind what the flop brings you made a good read and made the correct play, no need for steaming.

With 5000 in chips and a big blind of 400 one must have a very good read on the other players not to push in this situation.

It also depend if u were in bubble situation or still far from prizes; if in bubble I would fold but if the tourney was in middle stage I would push

We need more info imo before u can say its a shove or not.

well everyone plays different but personally i would have shoved specialy if i was short stacked.

It's stays a toughie imho

But like I said in my first reply, mini raise at button = lighsteal or monstermost of the time and my instincts were right accordig to his thread.
TT vs KK eventually.
I prob layed the hand down after good thinking. but I needed the table image as well.
This hand is more played situation wise imho.

Heart Liv ftw. Heart

There was 140 / 550 left. Top 80 got money, I had a ways to go before that.

Thumbs Down You Cant fold AQo when You are SS!!

1st - miniraise doesn't mean stronge hand (this is more a steal ofc)
2nd - the SB reraise was a simple raise (3BB). he could do with AT-
3nd - you are SS buddy
