August has been one f* up month for me. In the beginning of the month I lost around 1/4 of my bankroll playing PLO and HLN, I know I'm playing good poker and I always get my money in with the best hand but I get beaten by the most crazy hands. I decided to take a break and went on a vacation for 2 weeks. I felt good and was ready to go to the tables again, the first hand I got dealt was AA (I tought I was back in business) WRONG! the hand was AA against KK the flop was XXX turn K river K. It was the beginning of the end. lost another 1/4 of my bankroll. Luckely I got a very good rakeback deal so at the end of the month my bankroll grew a litlle big bigger again but the bad beats just kept on coming.
I mean I got examples enough, flopped nut flush to get beaten by runner runner full, flopped nut straight to get beaten by runner runner flush, set beaten by quads on the river, ... and so on and so on.
Have any of you experienced a bad run to? how did you dealt with it? did you took a very long break? did you continue to play? did you changed your play? did you quit online poker and changed to live? or did you quit at all? I know I'm playing my A game (which is very profitable for me) but It just seems I can't win every time I get rivered by some idiot who calls with a gut shot straight draw and they keep on hitting while I keep on losing .

Down swings suck huh?!...
It won't last forever and in the mean time, if I was you, after losing half your roll, I'd drop down a level until you feel confident enough to move back up!
About a year back I was in the same situation, I turned into a nit towards the end of the it. I lost about 90% of my roll (about $2k) before I decided to move down. Built it back up in no time.
Had pocket A's on the button yesterday in a cash game, a guy in the earily position goes all in so of course I called. When the cards are turned over he has J7 os, so I am happy as hell. He beat me by hitting a straight out of it on the river. Same day I have pocket K's, I raised and he reraised so I called just in case he had AA's. The flop was 228. So I bet thinking he would not have hit the board. Then checked turn and value bet the river and he turns over Q2 d. He stayed in because he was trying for a flush and hit his 2's. Bad beats by horrible players hitting has been my down swing the last two weeks

ups and downs are part of poker, you can't expect to only win without any badbeats. just maintain your patience and you'll be a winning player in long run,. if you feel like you are going on tilt take a break for few hrs/days and when you're fine comeback to play again.

Just stick with it weakminded, sure losing is frustrating, specialy when its all starting to look rigged, but as bad as your down swing is your upswing will even it out, no player can keep on winning we got to lose at time and yes even with the best hand. If you feel the luck of the cards is against you go tilt on a micro table let out a bit of frustration then get back to your A game. best of luck to you.
