You can't post something like that and then think you're still above it all Smile

lmao this thread made me laugh but would I "get involved " noppaaaa buddy Blink

But you did get involved. You jumped on and let everyone know you're laughing at them. You didn't keep it to yourself, you made a post and effectively condescended and insulted other posters. You most certainly joined in, maybe not with an opinion about Durrrr, but it'd (thread) already degenerated past that anyway. You made a post and contributed to this degeneration. so you did "get involved" . sorry. Next time don't get involved if you want to keep that claim for yourself. but don't get involved to post you're not getting involved. It's just as childish as the rest of us.

lol in ur opinion. I never insulted anyone, I pointed out that some are taking offense and getting upset over "celeb play". This is what they get paid to do. People get silly and bent out of shape for some of the craziest things, be it music taste, politics, religion etc. I am in no "flame war" with you, if I where you would know it. Blink As for my final statement about taking a chill pill, maybe you should take a deep breath, relax and if that does not work take one.

This guy built his roll from $50 or something.

Are you sure about that, I always thought he got a huge amount of money from his rich parents...
Confused

I am not 100% as I really don't follow poker pro's

However, I was reading a magazine (poker mag) a couple months back that was doing a story on him, apparently started out playing online poker whilst at Uni, built a small roll of around $50 to around $200K over the holiday period, or something like that. But yeh, my understanding is he built his roll basically from scratch/ at least no more than avail to most people with a lousy job.

But I aren't 100%, just remembering an article I read. Doesn't interest me enough to look it up though, but if someone else wants too...

OK Fcuk it. I looked him up
pated from wiki:

"Online poker
In March 2004 at the age of 17, Dwan began playing online poker with a $50 bankroll focusing initially on $6 sit-and-go's. After finding he could beat these games he turned to cash games where he grinded through the low stakes, building up his bankroll before reaching his current level of play which is often $500/$1000 stakes in which he plays against other notable professional players such as Phil Ivey, David Oppenheim, David Benyamine, Gus Hansen, John Juanda and Patrik Antonius. Dwan has said that since playing online he has never gone broke.[4][7] On 26 October 2008, during a session of $500/1000 No-Limit Hold'em on Full Tilt, Dwan played the biggest pot to date in online poker, $723,938, losing with KK versus Di "Urindanger" Dang's AA. According to H**********B.com Tom Dwan earned $5.41 million on FullTilt in 2008.[8]"

Exactly - + fcken 1 from me - dont listen to the 'slaters' - the kid is gonna be a legend - nuff sed Thumbs Up

Muppet, go rail on FTP and watch him for some hours. He is nothing but a donkey with cash.
Respect? Did he ever win a big LIVE tournament? Nopp.
He is a donkey with cash and attitude. And Im happy to see hes starting to lose big time Smile

vonkie u numpty kiss my arse - i watched him fcken rip martonas to pieces about 10 days ago - up 2.somet mill. yeah sure he's LAG but thats his style. He has ripped old school pros to pieces on HSP.. watch it if u get chance. Ive not seen him lose on that program - they all end up gettin " durrred " as esfandiari says it. Barry greenstein , doyle , sammy farha , these are people that have been at the top all their lives. And hes 22 fcken years old for fcs sake. Nuff sed.

Haha, what the f.. does his age has to do with that he plays like a donkey? And anyone could have ripped the even bigger donkey martonas apart.

Can you at least but forward a sensible view point your making yourself sound retarded.

Are you suggesting now that Stu Unger was a donk - the player that most top pros consider to be the best player of all time.

What happened to Stu was unbelievably tragic but it has no relevance to how good or bad he was at poker. He lost all his money gambling on stupid bets off the poker table and by shoving it up his nose.

On the poker table he was always winning even when he was off his face on drugs.

Durrr may have a similar super LAG style but that's where the similarity with Stu ends. There is no evidence that he does the same stupid things off the table that Stu did.

"Becuase you made a lot of money in the past doesnt make you good. Durrrr is and will always be a donkey. Try to live with it "

What kind of a statement is this. Money is the the only measurement of how good you are at poker. If your good you win more times than not that's how poker works.

Your statement is as stupid as this one " Usain Bolt may be able to run the 100m in 9.59secs but that doesn't make him a good sprinter "

Are you a retard? My point is was that Stu was the best ever.
And about the money measurement....sure, pull in on highstakes with 300 million, and call every damn hand, and you win at the end. does that make you a great pokerplayer..get real ffs

The quality of BRM posts ever increases .... NOT.

You talk like fanboys, like you're in love with Durrr. He's a donk, you're a donk, and I'm not really giving a s**t what you think of my opinion on the matter, as it is just that, an opinion. Learn to read full posts before blurting out your childish insults, GEEK.

Durr and FTP fannyheads all over the shop.

you have no sensible logical or factual points to back up your opinion.

go ahead enjoy your little hissy fit

Think you'll find it's some of you on here having the hissy fits. Always the same when anyone differs from your opinion. Donks.
Big Smile

Proof?? watch ANY session of Poker after dark or High stakes, both of which I mentioned earlier, and witness the extreme donkage.

Idiot.

Very true Smile

He is very talented, there's no question about that but, he is a bit too loose imho.

I'd put money on him recovering.

Yeah, I agree to you...

Erm actually on High Stakes Poker hes been a walking accident.. Hes done terrible

All he is is someone prepared to throw lots of money into the pot and hope he sucks out.

Yes hes good at cash tables, but put him in tournaments and hes awful because his high betting just doesnt work, and the fact he won little or nothing at the WSOP backs that up.

not quite sure how you can say he's done bad on HSP

also maybe you don't realise this, but tournaments mean nothing to a guy who wins millions playing cash game..
its a completely different game, and its widely known that winning in high stakes deep stack ring games is far, far more difficult than the big tournaments.

Also note that he has only been old enough to play on the WPT/ WSOP for about a year.

Durrrr is a freak, and he plays a gamestyle that would never work if he wasn't so good.

I am afraid I take issue with you here.

Firstly the fact hes only just 22 bears no relevance to the fact hes hopeless at tournaments. Annette Obrestad won the WSOPE at a far younger age, Elky is not alot older himself and he is tearing up the big tournies year on year.

As for it being easier to win at high stakes ring games than it is to win at Tournaments, well sorry, but thats complete nonsense.

Anyone will tell you that to win a tournament requires far more consistent amount of skill and a slice of luck here and there. One mistake in a tournie and you are history. Such a risk doesnt occur in a ring game. You can bet the arse off the other player if you have the roll to do it, and if things go wrong then you just reload. If you win then you leave the table with a nice profit and put it all down to history.

Yes tournies and cash games are different, ,and no one would dispute that. Hellmuth is the best tournament NLHE player you will find, but put him on cash games and hes utterly useless. THe style are very different.

But to be classed as a true legend in poker then its tournament play that makes you a name, puts you ahead of the field. Only when you win tournaments do you gain the respect thats due because truly great players will consistently win tournaments.

People hate Hellmuth, but hes won 11 WSOP bracelets, every single one of them playing Holdem. No one else comes remotely close in terms of success in tournaments. Durrr doesnt even fit onto the same radar as Hellmuth when it comes to winning consistently.

No ones saying hes not got alot of money, all won at ring games, but give me a large enough bankroll that it doesnt matter if I lose $500k in one hand then I'll wham the lot in with any two cards like 7 2 offsuit. Who knows I may hit 7 2 2 on the flop first hand and what would that make me? A genuis or a complete idiot ?
