After coming back from under 1200 chips to 4025, I had a great opportunity to double to 8k when dealt AA ... of course it's always in your mind that the person who shoves all in [most likely with KK, QQ or AKs] will hit like crazy -

** Hand # 2829524793 starting - 2009-09-11 19:34:48
** €1,750 GTD REBUY[3099168]:Table 3 [Multi Table Hold 'em] (150.00|300.00 NL - MTT) Real Money

ltschafer sitting in seat 1 with 4845.00[Dealer]
bob-the-hat sitting in seat 2 with 12110.00
drsensi sitting in seat 4 with 4020.00
LuckySlim sitting in seat 5 with 10070.00
aliscooot sitting in seat 6 with 8090.00
telstar61 sitting in seat 7 with 7295.00
pedrobain sitting in seat 8 with 7000.00
oleg1 sitting in seat 9 with 1700.00[Sitting out]
Cagey30 sitting in seat 10 with 4025.00
bob-the-hat posted the small blind - 75.00
drsensi posted the big blind - 150.00

** Dealing cards to Cagey30: Ac, As
LuckySlim called - 150.00
aliscooot folded
telstar61 folded
pedrobain called - 150.00
oleg1 folded
Cagey30 raised to 750.00
ltschafer folded
bob-the-hat folded
drsensi folded
LuckySlim folded
pedrobain raised to 2550.00
Cagey30 went all-in - 3275.00
pedrobain called - 4025.00
pedrobain shows: Kh, Ks

** Dealing the flop: 3d, Js, Kc

** Dealing the turn: Jc

** Dealing the river: Kd
pedrobain wins 8425.00 from the main pot

Rake: 0.00

I was dead on the flop, the river was just adding insult to injury.

Sucks. But it was unavoidable. No way your opponent will lay down the cowboys. And he has a 20% chance to hit his set.

Nothing you can really do there, I'll take ppA over ppk all week long.

Not that it matters, but my preflop bet would have been bigger.

I wanted some callers, and was always ready to re-raise/call any raise pre-flop. The 5 x BB scared most off as it was.

You ARE aware of the fact that AA doesnt instantly pwn all other hands? Its just the highest pair, and pair is the lowest hand you can get (after high card ofc), its not that good you know. Slow play it next time maybe? Blink

I think everyone knows this. It's hardly rocket science. Look back at the hand history again and see I didn't all in, I raised - the guy with the KK pushed all in - I wonder does he know KK is only 2nd top pair huh? Apart from stating the obvious, would you have put down AA when forced all in? I very much doubt it. If he hadn't struck gold, his 2 main outs, I'd have taken it down.

Try loosing to 52o. I had A's in the SB when the button pf raised 3BB, so I reraised 3X's his bet. He shoved in so I called. He showed 52o and flopped a FH. Aww crap!

The worst thing is that he hit the last K on the river, like if you had deserved to lose your rockets.
