i smoke a lot more cigarets than usual while i play poker , espacially when i have being beaten by a lucky rivercard . in the past i could go on tilt and smoke more but now i just smoke more and stay focused on the game . by the way , i am talking about cigarets and not about dope !

Ye i had that too in the beginning, altho when multiabling alot, u don't have the real time to smoke. I stick to one cigarette an hour atm, lets hope it stays that way.

I think poker and smoking, also smoking and anything that has to do with gambling. When I worked at Harrah's casino, I can remember looking around and just about everybody had a cig in their mouth. If they didn't it was because I was sat in the ashtray ontop of the machine burning away.

luckily for me I live in a no-inside smoking house, so it limits my smoking whilst playing poker.. generally I either go out for a smoke during the breaks in MTTs (often have to combine this with taking a piss, luckily I live in a no-inside pissing house too, so it's go out for a piss&smoke). Otherwise I might have a smoke whilst waiting for rego period to end, after a bad beat on a ring game, to give me a break and limit tilt. Or at end of a session (regardless of up or down).
But all in all, this generally amounts to smoking a lot LESS than if i weren't playing poker.. Or if I was able to smoke and play poker.

Luckily I have nothing to do with smoking, so I have no problems while playing poker. But I can understand that it becomes more in such stressing situations...

lukily for mee to in my house smoking thorugh chambers its not allowed...and no more smoking while playing .....if i m else where i smoke like 3 tig / hour

Stop smoking!!! ahah. You'll spend all you winnings in cigarrates if you continue smoking that. Also if you qualified one day for a live tournamnet or decide one day pay the buy-in to one, you won't be able to do it, so try to quit to be prepared for the WSOP final Table.

well smoking kinda helps release the tension of losing to a suckout or a badbeat.. i use to quit smoking already but thx to poker i am now an addict lol... hope i don't get very few badbeat or suckout so i don't have to smoke so much and shorten my life hehehehehehehehehe....
It's better to avoid smoking when playing poker so that you can concentrate on your task that is playing good poker... well indeed you can do it if you're playing one MTT which is going to take long hours as of course you're not gonna play everyhand...

I smoke less than usual when i play poker. I mustnt smook in the house, so i just go outside one time per hour, when im on late position. Sometemis blinds catches me, because im too slow.

I don't smoke at the pc, the only place in the house I smoke is by the extractor fan in the kitchen [kids in the house] - I only go for a smoke during breaks in mtts, like someone else said. If I'm just playing cash or sng games, I try limit myself to 1 per hour, it's unhealthy enough sat at the pc for hours without doubling the badness!
