One of the most important rules in poker is you can only bet/call with what is on the table. Otherwise someone who has money to burn could raise you something that you couldn't afford to lose or someone with the nuts could maximise his winnings without taking the risk beforehand.
But then again if both parties agree then maybe the rules can be bent. But the key rule for every gambler is to never risk more than you're happy to lose, no matter how certain the odds are.
Here is the killer question:
If you had the stone cold nuts on the river and someone says to you, lets make this interesting.... What would you bet, knowing you can't be beaten, there is just the question of ethics;
you're wife? you're home? yourself? your friends car? your brothers house? your life?

Man loses his daughter to gamble in India In eastern India has one man used his daughter during a gambling game. He lost the game and had his eighteen girl send to his opponent. That report in The Times of India Sunday.
The desperate man, whose first name only - Ismail - is known, had lost all his money and his daughter but then decided to put the next game. So say the residents of a village in West Bengal to the Indian newspaper. The other gambler won the game and went by the fiercely protesting girl.
The local village chief told the police. Which has investigated and is looking for the girl. Family members said that Ismail was a frequent gambler and also addicted to alcohol.
The two worst things to be in life: A heavey drinker and gambling problem. Been there and done that with the drinking and it gets old after a while and you have to move on. Gambling, I just play small stakes on two poker sites and just play to have fun and try to increase the bankroll. Couldn't put my son up for stakes at a table, just would never cross my mind. As for the fiancee/future wife next month, hmmmmmmmmmm....lets see. J/K, couldn't do that either but at times it has crossed my mind...lol

hmm... so in the end did the daughter have to be given as the bet ? because in india anything is possible and i won't be shock if the court rule the daughter must be given to the winner.. I just hope it will be a hard lesson for the fool

Poker ? Knowing I couldn't be beaten (river dealt, I hold unbeatable nuts) - I'd bet anything you listed. Hell, I'd bet your life. All so long as I also "knew" I wasn't gonna get cheated somehow.

I will only bet with money i can afford to lose. But i understand that gamblling problems are really a big problem in the world. I dont think they never be able to stop the problems.
