Ladies poker event won by a man

Two weekends ago a 65-year old man named Abraham Kortotki won a No Limit Texas Hold'em event for women at the Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ. Kortotki and several other men were able to enter the tournament for women thanks to a legal loophole involving discrimination laws. Of course this made many of the female participants very upset as they thought a "ladies no limit event" only should be for fem[...]   Read more » Ladies poker event won by a man

Having a "ladies only tournament" is stupid ... having a "blacks only" poker tournament is -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(Censor).
Let poker be free for all that have the minimum age to play ffs!

But once again men easily proves to be better poker players than women Smile

lo i think ladies event is kinda humiliating the ladies as like saying that they don't stand a chance fighting with male contestants that they must fight with woman in order to get number 1 lol lol lol

I don't see any problem in organizing restricted tournaments.

As for me there are still few ladies which play hold'em and tournaments like this are a good sponsorhip to increase players

Any dude who tries to do something like this is probably not that good a player, regardless of the win.

i agree with those who say that 'female only' tourneys are stupid, poker is mind game, it's not basketball or football or physical sport where men are better

I think it's a nice think that a man won this turnement^^ but like said, it's useless to do a Ladys only tunrement and some kind of discriminating. Also there are alot of female Pro's who doesn't even like those specific tournements

If a man can win a womans 800m race why carn't a man win a lady's only poker game Big Smile

I think that the lens of this type of tilts, it he is to stimulate the poker among women, and consider that not this one badly that should be only a tilt for women, this way they do not feel so threatened by the man, and they can learn and to develop in this game with major freedom

It looks a bit discrimation to do a tourney like this, but its acceptable. One can organize a tourney for older then 60 and the younger ones should not feel discriminated. Its like having a tourney like the WCOOP main event where many of us would like to be but cant be because we cant afford to pay $5200 buy in for a simple poker game.

I don't think we can consider a women only tournament a matter of discrimination more than we can consider for example a private tourney for the members of some club.
I believe the reaction of the second place finisher Nicole Rowe had more to do with money than anything else, since in the women emancipation movement what was/is demanded is equal rights (to sit at the same table for instance) and not superior exclusive rights which would turn into discrimination on their behalf.
Although I find the event amusing, Kortotki's use of the law to enter a ladies tournament doesn't speak well of his manhood Smile. It's like a guy that uses the law to enter the public ladies bathroom on account of cleaner toilets or something. He might make it there, but when he comes back out I don't quite see his friends cheering him for his accomplishment Smile.

having seperate women and perhaps other tournemants is not that big deal. why not letting the female play their own tournament? it´s not our desicion it s the decision of the organisor.

We should stop any kind of discrimination once and for all. Men and women should use the same toilets in public places. Big Smile I don't mind, as a matter of fact.

My opinion is that you let them have women only tournaments, then le the men play and let the men get their money. If we organize enough of these tournaments we can cause feminine poverty in the world by stealing only women's money... Mua ha ha ha ha

I think there should be a woman's title and a men's title. In any sport they don't mix the men and woman's titles together.

What was the loophole, were men allowed to play in the tournament?

thats brillliant hahaha woman have it all there own way sometimes and this just go's to show men are on top in every thing....hahahahahahaha
