Final Table Approaching at WPT Foxwoods

Only 17 players are remaining in the 2009 WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic. At the moment the chipleader is Lee Markholt with $1.1 Million in chips. Amongst the top 5 we can find Team PokerStars player and poker legend Barry Greenstein with $595.000 in chips.

When the tournament started there were 259 players in the tournament but now 3 days later there are only 17 left and 6 of these will make it to the final table before the tournament goes on another break. Last year there were 346 players participating in this tournament so we have seen a huge decrease in players this year, probably due to the current recession. The total prize pool this year is $2.4 Million and the winner will take down the first prize of $731.000.

The favorite to take down the whole tournament is the chip leader Lee Markholt but knocking out an experienced player like Barry Greenstein is no walk in the park.

Here are the chip counts with 17 players left in the tournament:

1. Lee Markholt - 1.118.500
2. Amnon Filippi - 828.500
3. Vadim Trincher - 730.500
4. Tony Gargano - 629.500
5. Barry Greenstein - 595.500
6. Joe Raposa - 511.500
7. Alex Perelberg - 510.000
8. Lenny Cortellino - 500.500
9. William Botchis - 434.000
10. Josh Bergman - 408.500
11. Mike Hills - 403.500
12. Matt Casterella - 393.000
13. David Williams - 258.500
14. Allen Kessler - 184.500
15. Mario Delis - 148.000
16. Sean Nolan - 125.000
17. Joanne Monteavaro - 119.500
