A quiet day at the high stakes

Tags: high stakes.
Posted on 18 March 2010 by "T".

Yesterday was probably one of the most quiet days in a long time at the high stakes tables. David Oppenheim became the biggest winner yesterday with "only" $140,985 plus for the day. LarsLuzak ($117,913) and Brian Townsend ($79,480) grabbed the 2nd and 3rd places.

The one who lost the most money yesterday came to be the relatively unknown player "geoff7878" who lost $159,672. The mysterious swede Isildur1 didn't play at all yesterday. Maybe he needed a break after the past few days of running bad and losing big?

TOP 5 winning players:

David Oppenheim, $140 985
LarsLuzak, $117 913
Brian Townsend, $79 480
SirWatts, $49 511
LokoIsBack, $43 424

TOP 5 Losing players:

geoff7878, -$159 672
Cole South, -$91 756
Gus Hansen, -$82 831

poltergeist, -$82 003

trex313, -$76 881

Without one unknown Swede as driving force in the really high stakes games the play drops down a few levels. But wins/losses of 150k in one day is still a lot of money.

The spelling mistake at the title made me think that it was quite a day at the high stakes, but unfortunately not.. Club

Isn't this news item in fact the opposite of news. It's like making news of the fact there is no news. Although honestly you can't expect the most popular high stakes players to play every day. When your used to all these huge players going up and down and big poker titans clashing, a normal poker day looks a bit boring.

And yes admin you really should correct that reoccurring mistake. Not knowing how to spell quiet is a little unprofessional.

Sorry if the title was a bit misleading. Spelling mistake has now been corrected (I know quite and quiet have different meanings)! Thanks for letting me know! Smile Thomas-admin

I didnt knew that these high stakes are played daily. There is noting about playing a nice pokergame at those high stakes isnt? Peeps who play those stakes has so many dollars, that losing or winning 500 K is nothing for them. Its unbelieveble that so many people are playing these high stakes!

Yeah with figures like this it seems like high stakes is now medium stakes...
but i guess thats how it goes some days are full and others are quite. just like Bankrollmob some days there are loads of posters and others its a slow news day.
Life has a funny way of evening thing up every now and again... maybe tomorrow will be a HUGE day at high stakes...? who knows?

That people who lost and are unknown are mostly some rich people who just play Poker for fun and if they lost 100k they won't even bother....
That why poker pro win much cash because of the "big fishes" ^^.

looks like isildur has become critical these days for highstakes to run these days, lol
if he loses more money and again goes out it will be bad for highstakes.
hope he can find some luck and win some money back

i think he is the biggest loser this week, losing over 1m.
 LaBaiz23/03/2010 05:24:55 GMT
this is unusual for high stakes tables at full tilt, but probably there is a big storm coming after this silence period. Blink

But in this way, they help "normal" people to get some of their money Tongue
