It was a while ago since PokerStars added players to its Team Pro roster. On Wednesday, however, it was announced via PokerStars Blog that the world's largest poker site had picked two new Team Pros in Asia, Chen-An and Yaxi Zhu.
"Chen-An Lin from Taiwan and Yaxi Zhu from China are both popular and successful poker players in Asia, and today, they put on their red spade patches to make it official," said PokerStars Blog's Brad Willis.
Yaxi Zhu is a former finance and business manager who entered the poker world from a career at a consulting company, bringing her analytical skills to the game. She won two tournaments last year (one in Macau and one at EPT Prague) and has so far earned $230k playing live tournaments.
Chen-An Lin started playing poker in 2009 and won his first tournament the same year, a side event at the Macau Poker Cup for HK$15,000. His largest cash to date - HK$380,700 (approx. USD $50,000 - was scored in 2014 after taking down a HK$20,000 NL Hold'em event at the Macau Poker Cup
Both newly signed Team Pros are currently taking part in the Macau Poker Cup, which runs until September 13 with 16 Official Asia Player of the Year tournaments, including the HK$5,000,000 guaranteed Red Dragon event (Sep 5-11), which has a HK$12,000 buy-in.
