Americas Cardroom Beats PokerStars

US-facing poker site Americas Cardroom hosted its biggest-ever Million Dollar Sunday tournament (part of the OSS Cub3d) last weekend. In total, the tournament attracted 2744 players to boost the original $1,000,000 guarantee with an additional $372,000!

The tournament ended with a 4-way deal: BluckBlucka ($150,543), PokerTrader77 ($146,061), RiskedUnderO ($141,089) and Oldflat ($141,048). The four continued to play with $20,000 left in the middle for the winner. At the end of it all, PokerTrader77 had all the chips for a $166,061 payday.

"The people have spoken and are choosing Americas Cardroom over the competition," stated Michael Harris, spokesperson for Americas Cardroom. "To put things in perspective, last night on PokerStars, their $1 million Sunday tourney saw a final prize pool of $1,078,400. Ours saw nearly $300,000 more. This is huge for our growing community and a testament to the fact that ACR continues to give players what they want. We can't wait to see what's next."

The OSS Cub3d series features $5.7 millon in guarantees and so far there has not been a tournament with overlay. The series culminates with a $750,000 guarantee this Sunday and Americas Cardroom expects the prize pool to exceed $1,000,000!

This just shows that the poker community is still going strong. Both of these tournaments were very well supported and it is nice to see that 2 big tournaments on the same night were both well contested

We see it not so often that a smaller network or poker room can beat the leader Poker Stars. But this winning payout are really great and it was nice to see, that other rooms can also offer great tournaments and promos.

when they make someone a instant millionaire then we can compare them to stars. even party or triple 8 arent that rich in its prizes

G'day mate

I remember the old days when it was "Party P" that was the largest poker site, they had the best promos and tournaments for a long time.
My how the mighty have fallen.
Let us hope things will continue to improve for the poker community.

they compare sunday millions, but they dont say that at this tournament buy in is 500+fee and at stars its 200+15,so its big difference and lot more players are at stars sunday millions!so this two things cant compare!like to compare some tournament with 1000 buy in and to say,its bigger then stars!ofcourse will be!
 Gerimantas02/05/2017 12:43:08 GMT
Yes agree with dule-vu cannot compare tournament with $500 nuyin and $215 buyin and also pokerstars are running their miklion guaranteed tournament every sunday but america pokerroom onlu on special events, try to do it every week and then talk how you beat them
 superthight02/05/2017 12:48:21 GMT

Bragging about nothing as usual. PS - not that I care nor that I even like that place - having these on every Sunday every week since God knows how many years. Comparing the two is like talking down on Ferrari when you are some new team's owner in Formula One.

yeah like some dudes above me told this is really cheap talk from representatives of america's cardroom, i personally wouldn't adopt such a plot like "look we're bigger than pokerstars" just because of a single bigger tourney, when stars have done it on a weekly basis for many years and besides i'm sure they have a biggest online tourney even compared prize money to prize money... not saying i like stars of anything like that, i don't even play there for over a year, but lets be real...

well americas card room has great potential, has a lot of flaws, but it has lowest rake from all sites... only if they have faster withdrows, and to fix their software to be little better, and it would be realy awesome place to play!!!
 Mober02/05/2017 19:24:01 GMT
I would never expect something like this to happen with this site.
And of course it is good news for all, cause the competition in rooms is still out there,
making it better for all the players. Monopoly never helped anyone.
 pajalnick02/05/2017 23:29:17 GMT
Four people received about 150,000 dollars ... this is certainly a great achievement for all four players .... it's nice to see that not only the top rooms give the opportunity to get big wins but relatively small rooms give a chance for a good win

G'day mates

This might seem like a stupid question but can non American's play on this poker site?
I have never even looked at it so i am not sure.
It is after all called "America's Cardroom" so I was wondering if it is truly only for USA players only.

hope all is well

yeah, I can play at this site, and seen above StheP plays also. not every country can play but it is open to players outside of the USA. It might have a larger % of players from the USA than other sites, i dont know, or dont know why its called Americas cardroom since its probably licensed to Gibraltar

G'day Robbo1990

Thank you for the information mate.
Would you recommend it as a site I should bother looking at?

Do you think the play is hard, tight, or soft over all.

hope you are doing well

this was great payout for this players, but buy is also high, more then 500 dollars,so for somebody is too big buy in,for somebody not!if they want to be big poker site, they need to have every week this kind of tournaments!

well like I said above, it has lowest rake from all poker sites, and has softer players than on pokerstars and partypoker, but software could be better, and payouts are slow... if that doesnt bother you, than you should definetly play there Blink

If I ever win a prize so I do not know what to do haha I would go on vacation somewhere or something, although I do not know why I never saw so much silver together at one time xD

G'day mate

Thank you for the information.
I do not mind payout that are a bit slow as long as they do get paid out.
A three week or longer wait time is however to long in my opinion, but anything under two weeks is fine with me overall.
hope you are doing well.
