partypoker MILLIONS South America 2020

  • Venue: Enjoy Resort & Casino in Punta del Este, Uruguay
  • Event: $10,300 buy-in, $5M GTD Main Event
  • Schedule: February 11 to 15, 2020
  • Entries: 456

The final day of the partypoker MILLIONS South America Main Event began with nine players left. partypoker pro Dzmitry Urbanovich managed to reach the final table and landed himself in 7th place for $130,000.

To win the trophy, Pablo Silva defeated fellow countryman Fabio Colonese in a heads-up match.
Silva had a massive chip lead going into the final hand. Colonese's only feasible choice was to go all-in or fold. Silva cleverly limped with JHeartJClub and Colonese got caught in the trap as he pushed with 8Club6Diamond, to which Silva then snap-called.

Silva flopped a boat with the first three community cards JDiamond4Heart4Diamond. The 5Heart turn and the KSpade river completed the board, busting Colonese into second place.

Colonese earned $640,000 for his runner-up finish while Silva won an amazing $1,000,000 and the title. Before this tournament, Silva only had a total of $41,776 in live poker tournament winnings.

There were 65 players who saw a return on their $10,300 investment, including Ivan Luca, Jack Sinclair, and Mihai Manole. Team partypoker pros who also made it in the money were Day Kotoviezy, Roberto Romanello and Richard Dubini. Dubini went the deepest among the three, settling on 17th place for $35,000.

A pretty final table with 6 South Americans and 3 Europeans. No North American, Asian or other citizen on this planet. Brazil and Argentina have history in this tournament and show once again that there are exceptional players. Congratulations for all who took the final table.

Uruguay managed to host some very good games and for South America it means something, because Brasil and Argentina which are much more known and powerful, they did not have this kind of series. The future can do that but for moment we will see.
