Unibet (Kindred Group Plc), an online bookmaker based in Europe, has signed a 3-year deal to become the "title sponsor" of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) Premier League.

The bookmaker is actually a stalwart supporter of darts because they are already sponsors of the Unibet World Grand Prix, the Unibet European Championship, the World Series Finals, Melbourne Darts Masters, and the Unibet Champions League of Darts.

When the Premier League of darts was first introduced to the public, its innovative and interesting format along with the event's popularity has substantially grown, and it will definitely attract more people to this type of interesting game when the 2018 PDC Premier League will make its debut in Berlin, Germany.

The PDC Premier League consists of 16 weeks of dart tournaments, with weekly matches scheduled throughout the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Ireland.

PDC Chairman Barry Hearn stated, "We're delighted that Unibet have furthered their association with us in their sponsorship of the Premier League for the next three years. The Unibet Premier League will be bigger than ever in 2018, with our success in the UK, Ireland and more recently the Netherlands leading to the introduction of a league night in Berlin next year, and it promises to be a special tournament. The Premier League's growth since 2005 has been a phenomenon in British sport and it's another boost that Unibet were so keen to add this prestigious event to their growing darts sponsorship portfolio."

Kindred Group CCO Ebba Ljungerud said, "Darts has been one of the fastest growing sports in our sponsorship portfolio in the UK and we are extremely excited about extending our partnership with the PDC to become the new sponsor of the Premier League.  We are planning on making what we already know to be a great tournament even better. It's grown to become the widest-reaching event in darts and we're looking forward to 16 exciting nights across Europe. Darts is an action-packed betting sport and we will continue to bring our best-in-class activation and offer to all the fans."

Unibet is going to release a string of videos on social media centering on the PDC Premier League. The first of the videos is a ‘hidden camera' prank featuring PDC Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen and world's number three Peter ‘Snakebite' Wright.

Unibet has become one of the main sponsors on the darts circuit and it makes sense that they should sponsor this huge event. The Premier League is the 3rd largest tournament in darts and deserves a big time sponsor

I do not know how successful this darts has among TV stations. Is not at all interesting and to make sports bets on darts events you have to spend some time to improve yourself in this sport. A very good thing is for those darts professionals players who will earn some extra money. Good Job Unibet.

well unibet is a storng brand in Europe, not sure about the rest of the world or north korea, but to pick such sport like darts and invest lotsa cash into this is doubtful, not a hugely popular sport to be honest, hope they can pull it off.

They should just spend this sponsorship money 2 recode and clean up the mess which is their new betting interface. Slow, resource heavy (despite looking like it was oiginally planned for tablets and mobile devices in mind...) with ugly font rendering. I did not liked the old one either but this is a mess.

It eas nice, that Unibet supported the popular Darts Premier League. There are really a boom on TV with darts Championchips at the moment like poker some years ago. But the only problem was, that we can´t play Dart online Big Smile

You can play darts online with gta 4 game. It could make this game and poker rooms or casino is easy but who would play that honestly. There are plenty of games that can be played for money but no one moves to do anything about it so they stay on the games they think are good. I would play backgammon for money.

One of the wrost pranks i have ever seen.
Didnt even smile once Smile
He wanted 1 millions per year, in case falling from the horse and braking his arm Smile
No clue, what money they are getting in this sport. I will have to do a search at some point.

Itoo think that it is not so good idea to make investment in such sport like darts, it is not very popular and so why so much time and money inthis promotion? This prank is like mober say not very funny I think too. Maybe unibet will have success with this promotion but I think no.

It's quite the opposite. Extremely popular - especially in Western Europe. Does not need a lot of resource if you want to try it at home or at a local pub and the pros are full of interesting characters.
It's a sport where athleticism does not matter so literaly anybody could compete with anybody regardless of age and gender.

If i were in their place i would adopt the Russian darts style. Is an absolutely phenomenal game. I saw how to play and i was deeply impressed. So i can show you I'll send you a link dear mobsters friends. You will remain amazed. it's a pleasure to watch that. Now i show you to convince and say your opinions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EO23q4Wu-fY

A bit tied into this. Kindred Group Plc, the parent company, will concentrate on the Unibet brand, and will close down, or transfer to Unibet, its Stan James brand operations, which they had bought earlier.

Darts is quite popular game as stated above.
You can say that not many watch it as a sport, but one that many have played.
And you can find a board in many establishments like bars etc.
I have watched a couple of games on tv. A bit boring i have to say.
The remarkable thing also was the players drinking beer while playing.
Where else can you see that, in a championship Smile

All these mergers is just making things worse. Rather than compete /w each other on features etc. for new users they just buy out each others userbase. This not about long term growth.

Darts is brilliant TV. It's far better watching on tv where you get close ups of which little segment the dart has landed in on the board as opposed to sitting 50 metres away not having a clue cos you are so blindingly drunk and prattling around with your mates that you can't even see the big screen! Bring it on unibet!
 Mober09/10/2017 20:25:16 GMT
I agree with that. You can also see the points what they are after too etc.
Unless there is a huge screen in place when you watch live, its not the same.
And it kinda takes a bit out of the "live" too, if you are there and still watching a monitor Smile
