How lucky can one person get when it comes to the lottery? It looks like the lucky stars of this particular Californian lottery punter were aligned just right on the last week of November 2015.

He started off by winning $1,000 on a scratchcard, then he decided to reinvest his winnings, and shortly thereafter, he was able to hit the $10 million jackpot prize!

Rodney Meadows, a resident of Modesto, California, stated that he was just originally out for a short while to run some errands when he decided to purchase a single scratchcard worth $30 that bears the California Lottery 30th Anniversary design from his favorite Fast Mart shop. Ecstatic on his $1,000 win, he then decided to buy 3 more tickets worth $90. He then left the shop for a few minutes to scratch those 3 tickets, and incredibly, one of them revealed the $10 million jackpot prize!

Mr. Meadows, who admitted to the media that he regularly buys scratchcards (about 4 or 5 tickets a week), stated that, "First off, I could not believe it. I had to ask the clerk at the store who said to me, ‘You better check it again at the machine.'"

This lucky winner had not yet decided what to do with his winnings. According to the officials of the California Lottery, Mr. Meadows is 1 out of only 4 people to ever win the $10 million jackpot prize on an anniversary scratch-card ticket.

It's also good news for the Fast Mart shop, as it will receive a bonus of $50,000 for simply selling that lucky ticket!

How come when its christmas time we all hear these 'heartwarming' stroies about these winners, but we never get those parts years later where they lost/spend all their winnings and living on the street?
There are many documentaries about lotto winners, but not many happy faces in them tbh.

$30 for a scratchcard?????The price seems to have escalated from when they first came on the market.....in the UK we were told these were just a bit of fun and only cost £1 but now we see cards which cost £5 and £10.
A lucky guy to win 2 big wins.....it annoys me in the adverts when they say you have a 1 in 5 chance of "winning" but in reality 9 times out of 10 you just "win"your money back.
