Authorities are searching for a man who robbed a Bayou Blue truckstop casino at gunpoint right after he ‘disarmed' the casino's security guard on the wee hours of October 6, according to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office.
The robbery happened shortly before 3:15am at the Big Wheels Travel Center and Casino on LA Highway 316 (just off U.S. 90), when a man wearing black clothes and a black ski mask went inside the casino and quickly snatched the gun from the guard.
He then forcibly brought the guard and a casino employee to an office area and demanded money.
The man fled the area with the stolen money worth several thousand dollars and also took with him the security guard's gun.
Authorities describe the suspect as a man standing around 5'6" to 5'8" tall, and weighing about 300 to 350 pounds. During the crime, he was wearing black pants, a black sweatshirt, a brown hat, black and white shoes, and a black backpack which seemed to be designed to carry a laptop device.
The suspect remains at large, so anyone with info regarding the robbery is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433 or by texting "GIVEATIP" plus your message to 274637. Tipsters shall remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash if the info they share leads to an arrest.
