One of the biggest bands in the world, KISS, are bringing their rock'n'roll to Oklahoma by means of a new casino and resort. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, both founding members of the popular band, have partnered with Kaw Nation to open the first Rock & Brews Casino Resort as an expansion of the music artist's Rock & Brews restaurant chain.
Simmons and Stanley showed their excitement after their announcement and groundbreaking of the new casino and resort. Stanley said, "We're going to shake things up, we're going to do it our way, we're going to do it in a way that you'll be proud of."
The location of the new casino and resort is next to I-35, 55 miles south of Wichita, or a 40-minute drive from Kansas Star Casino, to which it is expected to directly compete with.
"For our first casino resort and hotel to be here is an honor for us," Stanley said. "We'll be able to pull people in from Tulsa, we'll be able to pull people in from Wichita, from Oklahoma City, from the surrounding areas, and because Rock & Brews is such a hot up-and-coming phenomenon ... we'll keep pulling in people from all over the state and all over the country."
The casino, as planned by Kaw Nation, will be built on a 186,000 square foot property and will boast 1,500 slot machines, conference center, events center, restaurants, and a bingo hall. Once completed, it will be the largest in northern Oklahoma and will be comparable to the size of Kansas Star Casino.
While the interior details of the casino are still being worked out, the illustration of the building plans appears to have swimming pools and a KISS logo running on the façade of the building. It is still unclear how much the casino will cost. "The bottom line is, taxes are going to be paid, there's going to be income for everybody and jobs created," said Simmons.
