Laziness = your poker+ loses  0

When depositing recently, I thought I could read up a little on poker, brush up on what I'd forgotten and then ease my way back to playing 10c/25c in no time.

How wrong and ignorant, and monetary wise, stupid.

Why have two 'bankrolls' disappeared? (I say 'bankrolls' because I stupidly didn't even apply the X-buyins rule)

Because I am a bad player? This is not the case - how do I know this? Because I have won before, and won nice money. You don't become terrible.

Because I against players better than me? Again I would say not - 2c/4c and small buy-in SNGs don't have behemoth players.

No..

It's because of laziness.

I simply didn't put the homework in to read up on strategy - I was the idiot player at the table when thinking it was everyone else.

There's so much information to be a better player and I thought I'd just walk right back into poker and win again. Aww crap! Incredibly naive and egotistical.

I don't really know why I posted this - I guess to help anyone who's starting the game or getting back into it and to try and save you a little bit of money. Thumbs Up

There are a lot of players without a plan at the micro tables. But what can we do when the suckout machine is on fire? Sometimes i think the poker sites have a donk protection software to generate more rake from the gamblers...

If you take a long break never coming back in full speed.
I believe its better starting lower than your usual limits to get the feeling again
and then raise it up to your normal limits.

Yeah for sure.

I started on 2/4c tables and $2/3 SNGs - the cash games were ok for bankroll but the SNGs definitely weren't.

I'm just extremely glad I didn't have the money at my disposal to waste playing higher limits.

It's good to get things like that off your chest and out in the open instead of dwelling on them. At least you can fess up and acknowledge what the root cause to your losses are without making excuses. This is a good stepping stone to getting back on track.
I'm not sure what your primary games are MTT, SnG's low buy-in tournies or what, but I would recommend playing at a level that you honestly feel comfortable at. If you look back through the threads there's an excellent post on playing SnG's that helped me build and keep a stable BR. I go back and read it whenever I have a few bad days in a row to remind myself to be patient and play only the best hands, play when in position, etc. Anyway I'm not one to give advice since I'm not that experienced, but I will say BRM and the Mobsters have helped me improve playing. Good Luck!

My main problem is being disciplined concerning bankroll management, I always do not stick to the rules of bankroll management and always play above my bankroll.

Hi guys!!

Bankroll Management. We ar nothing without a good (or at least reasonable) Bankroll Management. Nothing happens if we lose a bankroll if we learn something with it. If we lose several banks, well we are doing something wrong, uh?

I'm not exactly the one to say it based on recent form, but the chances are due to variance you will go broke over and over.

i have once read an article about bankroll management written by ''Jezus ''Ferguson and i conclude:
on the pokersite wich has been closed and not been opened again,,sofar..his socalled pokerschool

What a crap comes out of this mens mouth: his goal to achieve with that article is to keep the newbies at the lower limites,
where its much harder to win on long term then on higher limits..

to give an example : on micro limits about 96% of all MTT's are over 2000 playerfield,
at higher limits there are a lot more MTT's from 300-500-700-1000 fieldsized and some numbers inbetween, depending on how many register.

So he extualy says to us pay little money for ur buy-in and take a shot at the lotery

that's how i translate his advise when he preaches you should never risk more then 5% of your BR

to manage your bankroll good.

What a joker he is !!!! used to be a fan,, now i dislike him a lot,,,whit his false tips..and so on..

That's an interesting point you raise - and I totally agree. Playing a field of over 1000 becomes a lottery scenario no matter how good you are.

I don't waste my time on PS playing MTTs with massive fields or any other site.

I think you can't totally discredit Ferguson in that when you have little bankroll, you can only afford the big field tournaments - but if you win the payout will be very nice.

However it's a very long term idea and playing SNGs to increase BR would be a much much better thing to advise, short term gains for long term play.

I've personally had my successes in smaller fields like 550/800.

You did well in posting this, you have let your spirit talking for you, you said what you were really feeling inside, not what your brain thought you should say or write. And that happens to many of us, donkers or shakers, sometimes we are lazy and we lost because of the laziness, and when that happens, we always tend to throw the guilt for the others.

If ya havnt played online for some time the game has changed online.. With No US players allowed to play??? A whole country Banned!!!! from online poker Makes for a truely different online experience ... The other is there are tons I mean TONS of players that play aggressive they all think there Gus Hanson or Tony G Playing any hand and with online variance they are changing the way we all have to play....Ive Learned To Play very tight a nit as some would say... And wait for the pay off ...It always come's from one of the Ubber Aggresive players playin s**t hands and I get payed... But as in the game we have all come to love.. The aggressor wins with his 72 off againts my AKs some times.....
