Hi all,
I know a few of you play at PKR semi regularly and I was ;ooking through there VIP structure. The lifetime style is nice but it doesn't seem like there are a lot of ongoing benfits to the teirs, except the reload bonses. I was wondering do the bonuses get better and clear at a better rate for higher VIP members?
Oh and how do rakeback and bonuses work together their?

PKRVIP benefits are a bit of an on-going joke in the PKR community. To put it simply, PKRVIP club is pretty rubbish.
Reload bonuses don't really change that much, in fact everyone used to get the exact same reload offer every 2 months. However - in more recent times, things haven't been as good and now some people get the offers and some don't.
They definitely don't clear at a better rate or anything as your club membership goes up.
RakeBack and Bonuses work fairly well together, basically your bonus is subtracted from the GROSS rake.
so for example if in a month:
You rake 75,000pts ($750) Clear a bonus of $100 (10,000pts) And you have 30% rake back
then it works like this
Gross rake = 75,000 Net rake = 75,000 - 10,000
Rake for RB = $650
= 0.3 * $650.00
= $195.00
So you would end up with $195 + $100 for bonus which means since you raked $750 for that month your total RB % would be 295 / 750 = ~40% rb
Basically - other 'VIP' benefits include freerolls each month (bigger pools, smaller fields as you go up in levels). And a monthly $$$ added MTT that runs for each member level.
You get a few tourney tickets for reaching the levels too and then you generally get them again on your Birthday.
You also get gifts if you reach Platinum / Diamond level.. For example at christmas they posted me a Ted Baker bag- which I looked up and was worth about $200, nice bag.
Oh and if you happen to live in the UK / go to any PKR Live events - you can get VIP access - meaning free bar.
But basically - current VIP system is s**t house and really doesn't reward high rakes much.
Apparently they're going to bring out a new one soon.. or so they've been saying.. for quite a while

Its like Jess stated, rakeback (30%) plus reloads gives you a very nice total rakeback compaired to other online platforms. VIP is kinda suckass but its free stuff, i go for rakeback plus reloads

It must, think about all of those members who invest in the appearance of their avatar. At the begining, one don’t have access to many things, but while you evolute, you tend to get more stuff, and you can also buy it with your own Money. Personally, i would never do it, but there are tastes for everything.

I've never spent a single PKR point on my avatar - there are plenty of options for without spending points. It's a great marketing idea- since it essentially costs them nothing as opposed to people buying ACTUAL real things with their points. Personally - I spend ALL of my points on MTT tickets - best value there is.

That's about how it is at Carbon! I don't make noeffort to improve in the VIP program each month my points start over, I mean for the tier level so I usually at tier 1 or 2 (Earht or Wind are the names). I qualify for the $10,000 freeroll and get 9% rake I believe. I end up where ever I end each month.

Thanks for the run down guys, especially Jess. I wished I lived in the UK, open bars would alone be worth it, lol. I couldn't believe there wasn't to much incentive to climb the rank but if the points costs for tickets is good and the rakeback + bonuses is better than most then it probably works out to be similar to other sites, with the added bonus of not having to loose progress every month.
Green I thought Carbon's was pretty good. The daily rakeback is nice especially when added with other offers. But they tagged me with VIP points decay which I was peeved about even thogh it was my own fault for not reading the T&C. But still it just seems sneaky on their part.
