Hand evalutation (flush, king high)  0
So, first off, this hand happened during the bubble at turney play. We were 10 places from hitting ITM, and I was dead scared of a flush, Ace high so decided not to raise at the river. Which might've been a mistake, or maybe not (I finished 4th in the end).

But yeah, your thoughts?

I think you have to re-raise there. The texture of the board suggests to me he's got a King hence the smallish bet on the river. I would have put him to the test to see if you could get more from him, because I seriously don't think he's got the ace. That bet is too small for a Ace high flush. He would want to extract more IF he thought you were going to call with a weak hand.

you shouldn't even be having to ask this question because you should never of been in the hand to begin with because calling a utg raise (calling any raise, for that matter) with K3 is just a sure fire way of donating your chips. if you want to play k3 you should wait for an un-opened pot when your on the button and raise to steal the blinds when stealing the blinds is going to be worth it. ie when its going to add more than 10% to your stack.

but seeing as tho you called with k3 suited to hit a flush, you have to be willing to go broke when you do hit your flush otherwise its pointless playing that hand.

just remember tho, that just because you won the hand doesn't mean you played it correctly Big Smile
in the long run that play will lose you money.

congrats on finishing 4th tho. hope you do well in your next tourny

+1 for taking the words out of my mouth...

Pre flop was awful as already pointed out. Anyway - as played, I shove river. Why bother calling crap like K3 suited if you're going to chicken out when you hit your flush?

Also - the Q and the J of heats are on the board - which means IF he does have an A high flush; then he has raised UTG with A10 or worse.. Which makes his preflop play as bad as yours.. So if you give him credit for a decent UTG raise, he should NEVER show up with an Ace high flush.

Why play K3 suited ? I am sure you have feeling ( and you didn't trust or not sure with your feeling)
so when hit flush you lost confident . For me, I need 'feeling/instinct' like that to win prize, so you should be raise on river. That's not best play, so don't play like that too much Big Smile Big Smile .

Congratz for your winning Smile

Points taken into account Smile Granted, it might be considered awful preflop play, but to my mind it's like ... I got 66 big blinds, I can afford to go fish. post flop I was just hoping for the heart. And this play does get me far in general ...

But yeah, I must admit that I get where your coming from. And my final-table play does need a brush up Aww crap!
