Hi guy's, I am wondering, to all the mobsters that enjoy smoking a lil green stuff, what kind of strains do you prefer? ................ and do you have any suggestions on a particular strain of weed that I must try? anyways just thought id open a Strain thread to see who else is a pot head like I am .....LOL my mouth started watering thinking about all the different strains out there.

It's funny, online and in movies I always see Americans and Canadians referring to the various strains of weed. In Australia; no one does that - there's basically 'home grown' generally referring to weaker, home grown stuff and 'hydro/skunk' referring to the stronger, hydroponically grown stuff.
Not that I smoke any more, but when I was a teenager, I smoked a lot and I must say, I think anyone who started calling weed by some strain-name would probably be laughed-at / picked on quite a bit, as being a complete knob-head. No one likes people talking up the weed here, weed is weed basically, if you really have to differentiate then say 'good' weed or 'bad' weed, basically. But beyond that, people would think you were a right tool if you started babbling on about the name of the strain you smoked or it's country of origin or anything else like that.
But I get the impression in the USA/Canada, it is actually quite common to refer to weed by the name of the strain?

Oh yeah, different strains give different kind of highs. There's the Sativa strains, which give you that sleepy, don't want to move kind of high. Then there's the Indica straings, which give you that chatty, tripped out kind of high.
Personally, I like the high that the latter gives you, because it makes you more social, more creative, and is generally a lot more fun if you're around other people. Sativa highs are good if you want to sleep, are in a lot of pain or just want to kind of just zone out.
All the different kind of names like Kush etc just basically refer to the strain they come from, as well as the quality.
Down here in Canada, skunk weed is basically bottom of the barrel s**t weed that takes a bunch just to have any effect.

Hi guy's, Jess it seems we come from completely different country's...LOL yes I am stoned writing this, but I don't understand why there is such a huge difference between the way us Canadians/Americans, and you guy's down under refer to weed, well I guess us Canadians smoke so much more weed then Australians the market has evolved quicker than yours,
maybe its just that Australia is 10 years behind in the reference to all the different kind of strains out there and different effects, Or you guys know all this and don't give a fcuk and think were all nutts lol and are content on calling it ''good'' or ''bad'' weed I dunno

U might want to visit my lovely country as weed is legal here and the choice u have here in diffrent strains is bigger then anywhere..... smoke the indica strains my self as I prefer a stoned feeling instead of the more high feeling u get of the stativas.... grow them myself for a few years now.
Not really close to canada but if u ever be in the neigbourhood come have a taste of the netherlands U r welcome

Needed to climatize back into the white world after spending 2 yrs in Africa. So spent a week in Amsterdam, twice. You guys rock...best time ever and completely healed after one week. As far as names go, for myself green is green....most is good, some not. Have more patience when playing hammed, and the bad beats aren't as bad either. TBH rather not play if there's no green around...that reminds me will be reloading later this morning
