Why everybody say that it's profitable to play your draws aggressively? I don't get it. Ex: I have 9d 10 d and the flop is 7 c 5h 6c Why should I raise the flop when villain is giving me nice odds to call? OR why should I c-r the flop? Alot of the time I end up missing my flush or my straight, and when I hit it not all the time villain will pay me. So isn't this - EV? can someone explain it to me, because I'm so confused !? Confused

It's talking about cash games and when you hit your flush people just shut down. So if you flop the nut flush draw or a straight flush draw, you want to be trying to get your full stack in because if you check call it's pretty obvious your on a draw and you won't get paid when you hit (most of the time anyway)

It all depends on you, your opponent and the cards.
For example with the hand you described, why should you bet the flop?!
Well, you can play your hand as if you had 89 (str8 on board).
If he doesn't reraise you on the flop he probably has draws himself, like flush draws - str8 draws or even a set but he is afraid from the str8.
That way you can control your hand and bluff it on turn/river if you know the player you are up against will NOT call you.
Besides, if the turn is f.e. an 8 (h,d,s) and your opponent has also a 9 then you can take all his chips...

The example you posted it's not a open ended straight draw so it shouldn't be played that aggressive.

But there are draws in which for example you have a simple draw as you posted plus a better flush draw in the same time that of course need to be played a lot more aggressive, the main goal is the make the pot big if you know that you have good chances to have the best hand Blink
